24.01.2022 Construction is now underway on the new Campbelltown Billabong Parklands. The Billabong Parklands will create public open space for south-west Sydney as a new water recreation and tourist attraction. The parklands unique design is lead by Place Design Group, and will reflect the rich history of the Dharawal people in the area.... pitt&sherrys energy team is working with Place Design Group to provide the energy demand profile of the precinct when complete. Our team will undertake a concept feasibility for solar PV or co-generation for the site. 24.01.2022 Bridges play an important role in connecting our communities. Over one hundred years old and 193 m long, the Eltham Trestle Bridge is the last remaining timber trestle bridge on the Metro Trains Melbourne network. The bridge is heritage listed on the National Trust of Australia (Victoria). pitt&sherrys bridges team recently conducted a detailed Level 3 inspection, a structural assessment and developed Monitoring and Maintenance Plan for the bridge. The plan will assist in preserving the lifespan of this important piece of Melbournes transport infrastructure history.

22.01.2022 The West Tamar Highway Upgrade is a priority project for the Tasmanian Government. pitt&sherrys David Finnigan and Scott Atkins will perform Superintendent Services administrating the design and construct contract on the West Tamar phase of the project. The upgrade will see roadways and road shoulders widened, a new overtaking lane added and vegetation clearing to increase visibility. Once complete, the upgrade will improve safety, allow for future development and improve travel time to and from Launceston. 06.01.2022 This is problem-solving in action. After 60 years of spinning, it was time for MMG Limited Mill 1 and 2 to have a rest. The mills were assembled in-situ. As a result, there was no provision to remove the mills from the building as a single lift and would require the mills to be disassembled. ... Enter pitt&sherry to make it happen as a single lift. 04.01.2022 Andrew Bishay and Justin Warner recently completed site inspections for Willoughby City Council, which included 83 road structures throughout North Sydney. It included a very old sandstone culvert and various walking trail timber bridges amongst these wonderful local bushwalks and parklands. Just one of the perks of the job!

04.01.2022 Last month, our Hobart structural and bridges team took part in headspaces The Push-Up Challenge. The challenge for each team is 3046 push-ups over 21 days from May 11 through to the end of the month. That is one push up per person that was lost to suicide in 2018. Suicide is the leading cause of death amongst people aged between 15 and 44. This year the challenge is a poignant one, as this number is expected to rise due to additional stress from COVID-19.... 02.01.2022 The Afton Street Pedestrian Bridge reopened this week for social distancing pedestrians. The bridge is an important crossing on the popular Maribyrnong River circuit. Our team provided feasibility study, design and documentation of the bridge deck and balustrade upgrades, condition assessment of the cable-stay elements, engineering advice and construction phase engineering services.
