24.01.2022 WE ARE OPEN AS NORMAL However, commencing Stage 1 Lock Down. Effective immediately we ask that ONLY 2 people are in our store at once.... Please work with us and place phone orders and we will do our best to have ur orders ready on time. If you are uncomfortable entering our store ring when you arrive and we will bring ur order to you. In reference to home deliveries we are looking at the requirements from the government to put this system into action. Please work with us through this. Our staff are awesome and we are committed to keeping everyone healthy, safe and in a job.

16.01.2022 How long since youve sunk your teeth into that great Aussie icon, a Chiko Roll? The Chiko Roll was first created by Frank McEnroe, a boilermaker from Bendigo in 1951, but were sold for the first time at the Wagga Wagga Agricultural Show. McEnroe invented the Chiko, as a one-handed answer to the then popular chicken rolls. Its where its name hails from - they were first sold as chicken rolls, despite the fact theres never been any actual chicken inside the rolls. The ingredients are: boned mutton, cabbage, barley, celery, rice, carrots and spices. The mix was wrapped in a thick egg and flour dough, then fried until golden. When we were growing up every milk bar and fish and chips shop stocked Chiko Rolls frozen and ready to fry and theyre still around today. And remember the Chiko Chicks?
