23.01.2022 Had the terrific opportunity to talk about what the extension to JobKeeper means for PJSE and the issues in general for the Event Industry, on the ABC yesterday. We need all our events in Victoria back and fast, but it’s going to be a while! #eventsindustry #ABC #PJSE #abcmelbourne

18.01.2022 Looking forward to chatting with Richelle Hunt and Warwick Long tomorrow morning at 11am on ABC774 about the impact of COVID-19 on the events industry. Tune in! #events #ABC #conversationhour #PJSE #abcmelbourne #774melbourne #RichelleHunt #WarwickLong

17.01.2022 This morning I had a great chat on The Conversation Hour with Richelle Hunt and Warwick Long about the future of big events! In case you missed it, have a listen on the link below! https://www.abc.net.au//the/the-conversation-hour/12453276 #eventsindustry #ABC #conversationhour #PJSE #abcmelbourne #774melbourne #RichelleHunt #WarwickLong

15.01.2022 As we Victorians go into harsher lockdown restrictions, I shared my thoughts of where the event industry in Victoria is at with Spice Magazine and News

15.01.2022 A number of event companies were asked a range of questions on the impact on their business and what they have learnt from the COVID world. Special thanks to Trevor Connell and the team at Australasian Special Events where I shared my response... 'The Ultimate Stress Test'

14.01.2022 Who would have thought it would ever get to this one of our hallmark major events not happening for the first time ever in Melbourne. Not only is it a blow to companies like PJSE but also for the hundreds of businesses that we and others employ for Grand Final week. This would have been our 24th consecutive Grand Final Parade and our 13th year of producing the Grand Final Entertainment, so it will be a very strange feeling not to be a part of these events that we have loved... being involved with. Special thanks to Fiona Byrne who gave us the opportunity to highlight this story in last weeks Sunday Herald Sun. I really feel for all those who have been involved, many since day 1 and have continually assisted in making the events better each year. Yes it is a job, but it is also their passion. The economic hit to Melbourne is at least $50 million with the events and hospitality industries forefront. Melbourne will not be the same without the Grand Final, but let’s plan on making it even bigger in 2021 when it does return. Brisbane may have the Grand Final this year and they deserve it, but what they won’t have is the DNA of Melbourne that has made our major event industry second to none. #MelbourneEvents #PJSE #PeterJonesSpeicalEvents #HeraldSun

14.01.2022 I’m really pleased to announce the launch of PJSE Consulting. In what continues to be a challenging year, PJSE Consulting will offer organisations the guidance strategy and advice to help them create and deliver their own events. Whether it’s developing the creative and marketing plan or guiding them through the minefield of risk, insurance and logistics, the new PJSE Consulting is well placed to provide this assistance. ... This is aimed at all organisations including government, not-for-profit and corporate businesses. Whilst they are all running their own unique events, a number of core issues are relevant for all of them and particularly in this new business environment. 13.01.2022 Very sad to learn about the passing of our dear friend Michael Falzon. Since I had the opportunity to see Michael in the original 'We Will Rock You', I said this is a person who I'd love to work with. Over the last 12 years he has both performed and put together lots of fantastic shows for the PJSE team. We loved working with him and will miss him terribly. Our thoughts are with Jane and his family at this time. Thank you Michael for being just a great guy.

12.01.2022 I recently had the opportunity to present to final year event management students on what are the current issues for the events industry in Victoria in the hope to being able to assist them with their future endeavors. They even asked me what the impact was on my business and what I was doing in the future. I then used this as an opinion piece for Spice Magazine special thanks to Brittney Levinson for the opportunity to do so. Lots of implications for all of us! There are lots of people doing a great amount of work behind the scenes to get the industry back up and running as soon as possible. We will get there!

11.01.2022 Following on from my interview with The Event Sessions, here are my thoughts on the ever changing landscape of the events industry. I am interested to hear what others think the future holds and how best we deal with it.

10.01.2022 A big thank you to 'The Event Sessions', particularly Jennifer Trethewey and Antony Hampel, who I sat down with to share my thoughts on our industry and what the future holds. It certainly made me think a lot about what I can be doing and will hopefully inspire some other people in the event industry

04.01.2022 As one of this years judges I was fortunate to be able to attend last weeks Australian Event Awards and Symposium all be it via Zoom and participate in a discussion about the impact of COVID-19 on our industry. The discussion was important but it was not the most important element of the night this was reserved for the fact the event actually took place at all. When COVID-19 hit back in March, I questioned if it was the right thing to continue with the awards, consid...ering the economic impact and job losses the industry was facing. What sort of night would we have? I’m so happy to say I was wrong and thank heavens Ian Steigrad and his team said We need to do it. Whilst all the recipients of the awards were so deserving, equally so was the industry who supported the awards. Whilst we were all stuck in our home states, the comradery and support for each other was amazing, and a true reflection of how the industry will emerge stronger for the experience. #australianeventawards #PJSE #eventpics

01.01.2022 Whilst it’s great to have hospitality and tourism slowly opening up, unfortunately Melbourne’s major events and business events are still a long way away from full recovery. Next weeks #MelbourneCupCarnival is a great example of how hard many suppliers are facing the harsh reality of no business. Thanks to Nick McCallum at #7NewsMelbourne for highlighting these issues.... The numbers allowed at both the #BoxingDayTest and the #AustralianOpen will be critical to the on-going safe re-opening of our events. The events industry is ready and prepared to get back to work.
