23.01.2022 PESTS! This is my go to method to treat pests on all varieties of plants, its a safe and effective method. Depending on the plant, pest and severity you can treat by spraying to create a soapy layer or if needed soaking the whole plant. I'll explain my usual routine first and if youre interested enough to read on, I'll elaborate further. ... I add a decent squirt (I'm going to guess around 30ml) of the dishwashing liquid into a spray bottle and fill with water. Drench the whole plant in the soapy solution paying extra attention to the under leaves, spray some papertowel so it's soapy and clean the leaves gently both sides, rinse the solution off the leaves with luke warm water, don't stress about dishwashing liquid soaking into the potting mix, I have had plenty drenched in it without any adverse affects. Check the plant regularly over the next week or 2 for any signs of pests and repeat if nessesary. If you have stubborn or harder to treat plants with lots of hiding spots you can submerge the plant in a soapy sink of water for a minute or 2 before giving it a good rinse off. You can also use cotton buds to remove any pests you can see. It replaces leaf shine products that can build up and block pores on your plants leaves. It cleans the leaves, leaving your plants with a healthy sheen and clear pores. You can use the chemicals designed for use on indoor plants but I find some varieties can be quite sensitive to neem, white oil and Pyrethrum, I recommend testing a leaf before using products on your plant. A little trick I like to use is spray and pot outside/rim with white oil, im sure this works as my personal collection never get pests, but when buying plants in its inevitable some of them will play host to critters but the dishwashing liquid method works a treat. Be sure to check over all new plants thoroughly before letting them sit with the others. Once you're on top of what to look for and how to treat it youll be living a pest free life with the happiest plants #pests #treatment #indoorplants #earthschoices #dishwashingliquid #gentle #safe #washtheplants #plantcare #maintence #plantcare #PlantEd
