11.01.2022 "Joshua Maxwell de Hoog’s work allows us a glimpse into the high functioning, ever-present and unstoppable steam train that is the prolific artist. "I’ll sleep when I’m dead" comes to mind when I think of Joshua and the hours he puts in - it truly is impressive. This body of work is no different and I have no doubt that it was running concurrently to ten other projects at its time of making. Joshua’s dedication to developing his practice is methodical and incredibly thoughtf...ul - the prolific nature of his work isn’t arbitrary - rather an extremely complex, symbolic, pensive and noble undertaking." - Platform Curator Amber Smith, on 'Sacred View' by Joshua Maxwell De Hoog Now showing online, November 13 - December 11. Works available to purchase at www.platformarts.org.au. Image: artwork by Joshua Maxwell De Hoog, photo by Leiko Manalang.

07.01.2022 Wall-to-wall colour! 'Sacred View' by Joshua Maxwell De Hoog and 'Ink' by Levi Warren are now online. View on our website: www.platformarts.org.au "This show shines on the importance of colour pairings, and a delicate final product, but allows for the curation and density of the pieces to show the diversity of our thought process. The use of watercolour allowed for a layering procedure, which highlights the fact that our emotions are non linear and have complex narrative upon inspection. Overall, my intention was to brighten what can be a dark place, the place of reasoning, the place of true reflection." - Joshua Maxwell De Hoog
