20.01.2022 At Playgroup we often have parents share concerns about their childs play, that they are not playing with other children. You can see here that there are many stages of play, from the baby stage of unoccupied play, through to social play that occurs typically from 4 years of age. Which stage do you think your child is at?

20.01.2022 Yay! from next week all groups (except Centaur) will be running! Social gatherings will be up to 100, so other groups that were getting close to 20 people will no longer have to worry, all are welcome. Melissa and Zoe are looking forward to seeing you all very soon!

11.01.2022 Very true. Walking away can be hard, but if you are not in a state to help, walk away so that you do no harm. Breath, this too shall pass

10.01.2022 Who can relate to this? Me!! But, a good reminder that we don't have to over plan on activities, just sit and relax and often the most meaningful moments together take place.

06.01.2022 Staying calm can be very challenging, it takes constant practice for everyone. Be gentle with yourself, you are not alone. If you remember, stop and take three deep breaths to regroup, then try again.

05.01.2022 A funny one to brighten up your day

05.01.2022 Child rights lie at the core of Save the Childrens vision, and we hope that todays book and activity help your child, and help you to gently start conversations with your child about self-protection. First up we read the book, Everyones got a bottom by Tess Rowley. This book is a story about children keeping safe, in a style that is fun, positive and protective. Please be aware that it does use the correct anatomical names for the private parts. Kids who know the correct t...erminology for these body parts are more equipped to disclose sexual abuse, which makes them less vulnerable. Second, the activity is to help your children to identify up to five safe people, who they feel comfortable to go to if they need help. We also talk about how their bodies might feel when they are in an unsafe situation. At 7pm tonight we will have available to parents and carers, the reading of the parent/carer section of this book, which shares a lot of helpful information for you. Please note that this recording is not suitable for your children to hear. Please listen once your children are in bed, or wear ear phones.

04.01.2022 Where do your children like to play in nature? Beach, bush river...?

04.01.2022 Attention: Not suitable for children. Please wear head phones or listen once your children are asleep. Child rights lie at the core of Save the Childrens vision. We hope todays book, activity and this reading of the parent/carer section, all help you to gently start conversations with your child about self-protection. Please see the comments section for a link to Bravehearts, who have some great resources for you if you choose to further educate your children at home.

04.01.2022 The Giveaway goes too AMBER!!! Join us tomorrow for another Croc and Duck show! The videos are now shared only within the groups. If you havent already, please join your group to watch and for group/location specific updates.

04.01.2022 As Early Childhood Educators we enjoy getting to know each individual child for the unique person they are. All children have areas they excel in, and all of them have areas they need to work harder in, just like adults. That's what makes the world interesting. We often encounter parents, comparing their child to others and worry that their child is not measuring up Remember, you are likely comparing your child with the strengths of a variety of children. Look for the strengths that your child has. If you have concerns about areas they may need some extra help, talk to us about it. The young child's brain is very flexible, a little help now can go a long way. What are your child's strengths?

03.01.2022 A good insight into tantrums and what your child is trying to communicate

03.01.2022 Did you ever expect motherhood to involve so much worrying? Does your child get a slight temp and your mind jumps along to the worst possible outcome? I have a the following written down that I often look 'Don't worry because it probably won't happen' This often helps me to reset my thinking. What trick do you have to minimise your worry mind?

03.01.2022 There are so many benefits to letting your baby self feed. Under the age of two children learn the most through sensory experiences. Just chop the food up the shape and size if their finger, keep an eye on them and let them enjoy

02.01.2022 Some playgroups are starting back this week The remaining groups will start back when the level three easing of restrictions occurs (Centaur when school approval given). For the groups that are not starting back this week, we will share an activity/songs/story session in your group at the time that playgroup would normally run. Therefore we are no longer sharing videos 5 days a week. The decision to resume or not resume a group is based on the average numbers of at...tendance for the group, if the average is over 20 then we are required to hold off until stage three. Please let us know if you have any questions. Melissa and Zoe See more

02.01.2022 Here is an update on all the Southern QLD/Northern NSW playgroups. Please let us know if you have any questions. Melissa and Zoe

01.01.2022 We often have parents ask us at group what to look for when choosing a child care service. Here is an article with some tips. Our hot tips are, choose a center based on the staff rather than the top of the range facilities. Are the educators friendly? do they great you and your child? are they approachable? Once you have narrowed down to one or two centers, we also suggest visiting them at varies times of the day to get an idea of how each part of the routine is carried out, ensure you visit at a busy time of day to see how the educators work at this time. Trust what is right for you and your child, trust you instincts. Lastly, ask around at playgroup, friends, family etc. Find out about others experiences. https://mumsgrapevine.com.au//07/choosing-a-childcare-cen/
