23.01.2022 Our Early Childhood settings allow children to learn as they discover, create, improvise and imagine. Inviting classrooms encourage children to problem-solve, seek clarification, create and lay the building blocks for further learning. Educators will support the inclusion of all children, assist children to challenge play that is unjust while offering alternative solutions that foster a caring, fair and inclusive classroom environment.

22.01.2022 Our outdoor program is planned around each of our rooms intentional teaching and children’s interest. Today it just wasn’t Junior Kindy children engaging in their interest in transport but also all children out in the yard this morning. The children were able to roll the cars tyres into the paint and push them down the slide. The children were able to see the tyre tracks and tried to predict which way the car may go.

18.01.2022 Today the Junior Kindy children engaged in an art experiment with glue, salt and food colouring. The children squeezed glue onto their paper, then added salt on the top. Next, they used their fine motor skills to grip onto the cardboard and dipped the straw into different colours of food colouring and shaked it onto the glue and salt. The children observed the food colouring sinking into the salt as the colours expanded across the glue. Lastly, they added some glitter as an extra touch!

16.01.2022 Kia ora! Children experienced Maori culture as we acknowledge our New Zealand Families at the centre and within our community for Waitangi Day. Children engaged in weaving harakeke (flax), creating their own pounamu (greenstone) and bone carving. As well as an interactive haka and poi dance. This was furthered extended on in our outdoor space creating weaving the harakeke through our fences. Nga mihi to our whanau who brought in their special New Zealand/Toanga culture to s...hare with the children and the special treats they made to share. We are lucky to share our culture with you all. 11.01.2022 Creativity is the freest form of self-expression. There is nothing more satisfying and fulfilling for children than to be able to express themselves openly and without judgment. The ability to be creative, to create something from personal feelings and experiences, can reflect and nurture children's emotional health.

01.01.2022 Today we thank our amazing educators for everything they do for our children. Our educators have faced one of the hardsest times they may ever face in their career with caring for children during a pandemic. Some of the amazing things our educators do day in and day out include caring for the children, nurturing, engaging children in their learning, building bonds with families and the community, investigating children’s interest and extending on them but most important making sure all children feel safe and secure in their environment. Today we have had a lot of families express their thanks, we truely appreciate all your kind words. We love what we do and can’t thank our families enough for trusting and choosing us to care for your beautiful children. From everyone at our Play Learn and Family THANK YOU
