17.01.2022 Celebrating all-abilities play Until recently, making a space for all-abilities play has been focused on physical access. At Lions Park, Gladstone, the facilities go beyond accessibility; we have designed an inter-generational park that is not just for disabled people, its for the entire community its for young, old, for everybody. Inspired by Leonardo DaVinci, the parks overall form is based on cogs interaction with each other and provides islands of play and recreati...on with different experiences for everyone to enjoy. 16.01.2022 Celebrating Destination Play Creating these incredible community assets gives people a reason to travel to you - its the old addage "build it and they will come". Organisations like Peet Communities and Logan City Council understand the multitude of ways a facility like Flagstone Waterplay Park at Flagstone can give back to their local community, giving people a place to gather, play, socialise and build their community spirit.

12.01.2022 It was a magnificent weekend to get back out into our playgrounds! Where did you go? This incredible park with a view is tucked behind Redcliffe Parkour Park on Hornibrook Esplanade, Woody Point. There are height challenges and climbing experiences for older kids, with swings and sensory play for younger children. Just watch out for the resident crocodile living in the sandpit ;) #visitbrisbane #leadersinrecreationalinnovation #parkwithaview

11.01.2022 Celebrating Logan Gardens Waterpark To reflect the importance of the indigenous community to Logan Citys culture, local aboriginal artist Jessica Skeen-McKinnons designs were transposed onto the decorative roof arbours, with the perforations becoming a stunning visual piece that enchants park goers from dawn til dusk as the interplay of light throws shadows onto the ground and tables below. The images depict groups that have travelled across oceans and rivers to live in Logan City. You can read more here: https://zcu.io/aONE

11.01.2022 Celebrating Sustainability It is so important that every infrastructure project supports the goals of the community, whether its environmental sustainability, increased social interaction opportunities, educational facilities or low ongoing resource needs. Flagstone Water Play Park operates in line with Logan City Councils sustainability policy. Water use is minimised by recycling, filtering and sanitising and evaporation is reduced through a combination of shade sails and non-porous surfaces.

10.01.2022 Swinging is so important for childhood development. Where are your favourite swings to visit? Children learn and develop through play. "While swinging, we experience a full range of sensation, from the calming rhythm of our to-fro movement to the excitement of rapid travel through space and time." ... - Tom Norquist #leadersinrecreationalinnovation #learningthroughplay #swingallday

09.01.2022 Celebrating Indigenous Art To reflect the importance of the indigenous community to Logan Citys culture, local aboriginal artist Jessica Skeen-McKinnon created the stunning interactive artwork on the raised toddler table at Logan Gardens Waterpark. Entitled Logan a place of resilience and harmonious growth, the water table celebrates the community coming together and taking steps toward a positive future, and represents how understanding and accepting ones past can pa...ve the way for a more united and content community; the ripple effects will just keep flowing on. #celebrate #supportlocal #indigenousart #leadersinrecreationalinnovation

08.01.2022 Inclusive Play Play is important for all children. Through play, children develop the skills they need for life. Inclusivity considers so much more than just accessibility by considering as many needs as possible; providing a welcoming place where people feel comfortable yet challenged, and removing obstacles and barriers that prevent people of all ages, cultural backgrounds and abilities (both physical and mental) from participating. A few small upgrades can make a huge dif...ference to children being able to play together and for playspaces to become more inclusive. Contact us to find out more - [email protected] or 1300 669 074. Link for further information on Inclusive Play: https://zcu.io/Jzve

05.01.2022 Can you see what I see? Looking out from the prow of your imaginary ship encourages role play and social inclusion from an early age. Bowman Park, Bardon, Qld

04.01.2022 Another playground recommendation; this time its aquaplay (while our days are still lovely and warm!). Visit Logan Gardens when you have a chance. Featuring a huge dumping bucket, a wading pool, choreographed "dancing" fountains (that also light up at night!!) and plenty of places to sit and relax, Logan Gardens is one of our favourite places in Visit Logan . Let us know what you think! #visitlogan #leadersinrecreationalinnovation
