25.01.2022 How fun is this? The weather has been so glorious the past few days we decided to take our art activity outside in the sunshine! The children had a ball painting with the squirt bottles each filled with different colours.... Some art gallery worthy creations here we reckon!

The children loved engaging in each activity as they learnt about the representations of instruments, music, colours and symbols in Aboriginal culture.

24.01.2022 Exploring Different Cultures Were going on a journey of cultural discovery this week and todays adventure took us to... Vietnam! We had so much fun making Rice Paper Rolls and enjoyed the different textures, colours and flavours all combining for a delicious snack ... It was wonderful to see the children so engaged in the activity and then watch as they devoured the rewards of their culinary work afterwards I wonder what the next cultural experience will be?!?

15.01.2022 NAIDOC WEEK We have had a wonderful time celebrating NIADOC Week this week The Kindy children have enjoyed their mat sessions where they’ve been learning about Noongar culture. ... They particularly enjoyed discussions about the traditional Aboriginal skill of tracking animals and they had fun matching the track marks to the animal they think created them For the younger children, we had lots of fun art and craft activities to help engage them with the spirit of the celebrations

Look at the concentration and fine motor skills on display as the children cut out and paste the storyboard activity (which indicates through illustration that they comprehend the story ).

03.01.2022 NAIDOC Week has been delayed until November this year, but we decided to follow through with our planned activities anyway! Here are some highlights from our week in a creative arts session, we used some Aboriginal dot painting examples as inspiration for the childrens own artwork The children made their own collage replication of the Aboriginal flag and we discussed the symbolism of the colours and design of the flag... we created our own didgeridoos and played music using traditional instruments Plus, so much more! It was a wonderful exploration of Indigenous culture, and we look forward to incorporating more into our curriculum as the year goes on
