22.01.2022 YES! You can still play tennis during stage 3 lockdown restrictions starting tomorrow Monday 13 July. Limited bookings are available for private lessons - plea...se call to secure your spot. Social distancing; hygiene practices and a strict adherence to government and a health Service directions will be adhered too. If you are feeling unwell please stay home.

20.01.2022 The Upwey Tecoma Tennis Club has regrettably also been closed until further notice.

18.01.2022 Good news - the club is now open but with some restrictions. Doubles can only be played by members of two households otherwise only singles can be played. Covid plan extract: Members will wait outside the main gate until sure there are not too* many players within the Club grounds Maintain physical distancing : Players should change end at either side of the court to maintain physical distancing. Social Tennis : ... There is to be a maximum of 10 members of the public in the facility at one time - plus whoever is necessary to run the activities being offered/service the facility. This means coaches and staff or volunteers running the facility can be present in addition to the 10 people on the courts at any one time. Please note, however, the Directions specifically state that these additional people must be "...only the minimum number of employees or agents (of the owner of the facility) necessary to safely operate the facility" Of the 10 members of the public in the facility at any one time, each grouping of people on court - singles or doubles - must come from no more than 2 households. Ie. singles only unless each doubles pair is from the same household. Everyone in the facility must practice physical distancing at all times by being 1.5m apart from one another. For coaching enquiries pls contact our coaches (The Tennis Institute) on 0402 424 482 or 0411 225 461.

17.01.2022 Even though the courts are closed there is always the good old backyard.....

17.01.2022 The Tennis Club is now OPEN for MEMBERS only, for CASUAL tennis. COACHING has also returned, please contact Kylie & Sean directly. Please read the attached guidelines.... Please keep track of when you visit the courts for tracking and tracing. Guidelines (Tennis Victoria) The directions of the Victorian State Government as relevant to tennis are that sport and exercise activities can resume if: you can keep your distance (at least 1.5 metres apart), you are not doing your activities indoors and you can do them with a maximum of 10 people What does this mean for tennis in Victoria? Gatherings of no more than 10, Singles or doubles, Small group coaching. Consider that the parent/guardian of younger children may want to have line of sight of activity, in line with the Victorian Childsafe Standards. In larger venues where you may want to have multiple small groups please use common sense to ensure groups of players are spaced out across the venue. Clubhouses/rooms to remain closed. Toilets can be made available as long as hygiene protocols can be followed. If your toilets are in the clubhouse/rooms you can open the clubhouse but only for the purpose of using the toilets.* No gatherings in the clubhouse. Social distancing must be practiced at all times. * Yarra Ranges Council has directed that Clubhouses are to remain closed, including toilets, until cleaning protocols are clarified.
