01.01.2022 Dental treatment is considered an essential service but during this time we have some important changes to announce. The health and safety of our patients, staff and general community is of great importance to us which is why we are following the advice of our regulatory bodies. The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee which is chaired by the Chief Medical Officer has advised that level 3 restrictions be applied to dental treatment.... Their advice is dental practices should immediately restrict dental treatment to non-aerosol generating procedures. So what does this mean? This means a limited use of high speed drills and no ultrasonic scalers. Both are used in a majority of the dental services we provide. So for now all routine dental care and treatment is to be deferred until we are told it is safe to do so. During this time we are able to provide limited emergency dental care following guidelines set by the Australian Dental Association, so we will continue to care for you where we can. As the situation is always changing we will post regularly to keep everyone updated. Stay safe, stay well From the Plaza Dental Care team x
