18.01.2022 On ABC Radio National this morning I spoke about the importance of attending regular appointments and health checks. This is especially important if you are man...aging cancer, diabetes and other chronic conditions. There are systems in place to protect non-coronavirus patients. Many GPs are now offering tele-health, and pathology testing centres are separating COVID-19 patients from others to keep patients safe. Please don't delay care by waiting to go to the hospital until symptoms have developed into a serious illness. You could be putting yourself at risk of long-term damage to your health. 18.01.2022 Our Childhood Free Flu Vaccines are IN ! THIS SATURDAY IS FULL We have been booked up quickly and are still getting through all the messages - if you have a slot you should get a message tonight. Those who have missed out we will let you know also - we will be running another clinic soon and will let you know as soon as we can. To limit exposure of our elderly and vulnerable patients we will be running flu immunisation clinics. We will not be able to do childhood flu vaccin...es outside theses clinics unless coming in for their routine vaccinations. Please NOTE your child must have been to Plaza in the last two years to book into our flu clinics. This Saturday 9-12 we will be offering free flu vaccinations to all children Yr 6 and under. To book your slot please either Personal Message us on Facebook OR ring 90213988. We need your child's name, date of birth and email address. We will then be booking a time slot - when you arrive please wait in your car and call us - we will then advise when you should come in - please bring the consent form we email you with you already completed. Once the vaccine has been given you will be directed back to your car to wait 15min to ensure there has been no reaction. Thank you all for your patience - we hope to get through as many as we can on Saturday but there will be more clinics to come.

16.01.2022 The first week of our drive through is done. Results are in - 18 people seen straight away, checked and tested within 15 minutes. All results back within 48hrs and patient notified. No positive cases! Well done Goldfields for maintaining social distancing and testing when you are sick.... 12.01.2022 DRIVE-THROUGH TESTING Kalgoorlie-Boulder residents will be offered drive-through coronavirus tests in a bid to boost testing in the region. Plaza Medical C...entre will run the service every weekday afternoon starting today, as an alternative to testing at Kalgoorlie Hospital. Dr Kylie Sterry said test results were expected within 48 hours but not everyone could get tested. If you come to the drive through testing and you're completely well, you're not going to get a test for COVID-19 and that includes if you need to go back to work, she said. If you’ve got a simple ear infection or you’ve clearly got tonsillitis, then it’s unlikely to be COVID-19. But it can be very hard to distinguish that over a telephone consult with your GP or just on your own, so this is a way we can help people distinguish whether they should be tested or not. She said appointments would be offered to people once they had a Telehealth appointment with any GP and completed the clinic’s form. Once we’ve received that information through our reception, the patient will be given a text message with a time to present to the laneway, which the entrance is off Wilson Street, she said. When you see one of our doctors you can request to get your script as a sms straight to your phone. Most of the Pharmacies in the Goldfields are now able to process them straight from your phone....
