25.01.2022 Hello plotters! As promised in our March newsletter, we will be reliving our past achievements by sharing the wisdom of plotters past. A massive thank you to ex-President Brent Casey for sending us a plethora of sharable stuff. First up, Biting Pavlov. This show was performed in 1998 in the Studio Theatre on UTAS Sandy Bay campus, who remembers that!? Kym Weatherley was our leading lady in that production, and was described by the (now long gone) Arts Watch Tasmania maga...zine as "a joy to watch." The review even went so far as to deem the production as "one of Hobarts best theatrical events...of 1998"! Did you see this production? Were you involved in it? Maybe you remember seeing a poster around or reading a review? Let us know in the comments!

13.01.2022 Have you taken a trip on The Return yet? After our opening last night we have received some wonderful critical feedback - we are so thrilled and grateful for everyones kind, thoughtful words. "This is not to be missed, high calibre work from a director who I hope will continue to create and develop. It only runs this weekend. Tickets are MAX $25. You couldnt even get a quarter of a Dark Mofo event for those beans. See great student theatre, and great emerging artists workin...g alongside seasoned professionals. Do all this whilst supporting local content." - Maeve Mhairi MacGregor "Congrats to everyone on a sensational production! This play is a special piece for me, and it was so wonderful to see it again. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I really hope you get the audiences you deserve. Hobart peeps dont miss this! Itll be 90 mins that you wont want to end. You also dont want to be that person, that says oh I wish I saw that!" - Danni Ashton "GO SEE THE RETURN! Seriously though, I was legit amazed at how stylistically captivating the direction was, I was not expecting the moments of wacky-abstract that made you uneasy, but laugh all the same. STELLAR cast, Benedicta McGeown was the kind of vulnerable that didnt feel patronising, no mean feat. And um, ~atmosphere~ out of this world!! the lighting/sound/set design honestly competed with some Bell Shakespeare productions Ive seen (if not bettered!!) I feel like a lot of risks were taken, this play has such raw, real content, and the fact that the direction dared to experiment with its delivery, (especially with the physical choreography) I think, raised the energy to spectacle heights. Anyway yeah its really great, literally enjoyed sitting in the ~ambience~ so like, go experience it if you can." - Catherine Grainger "Go see PLoTs The Return. Words are failing me at this time of night, but strong direction from Jared Goldsmith. Brilliant performances all round but with special mention to Stavan Jonoo and Benedicta McGeown. Also a shout out to Jenna Grosvenor working furiously up on the desk. Get on it. Youve only got till Saturday." - Tai Gardner "An excellent show, really well acted all round with thoughtful sound design and lighting that complemented the performances perfectly. Thoroughly enjoyed." - Brendon Flynn ~~~~~ We have three shows left! Dont miss out- get your tickets at https://www.trybooking.com/BCIRM for a wild ride. Credit to the wonderful Patrick Foster for this neat promo
