24.01.2022 This is great advice on handling procrastination from Stronger Than My Excuses "This might support you to take action...now. PROCRASTINATING? BREATHE, THINK,... DO We all have days when we feel overwhelmed and wonder if we will ever get ahead. Anxiety, depression and other mental health disorders are real issues within our society today, yet so many people are still putting undue pressure on themselves with work and family commitments. Procrastinating, while giving temporary relief, is a major contributor to anxiety. The difference between a good idea and an entrepreneur, is to take the plunge. So, stop worrying about making mistakes (causing procrastination) and just go for it and you will relieve yourself of enormous amounts of pressure. We all know how good it feels when we get one of our ‘hard’ tasks completed. Making those sales calls, sending that difficult email or even breaking up from a negative relationship. It’s hard to do, but once you’ve done itWooo Hooo. You feel great, right? Imagine if you could keep that momentum going. Take that inner exciting feeling and keep it with you every day. As Richard Branson said in a recent article The key to success is unwavering commitment and focus. You will make mistakes as you launch your product or service a ton of them. But keep your eye on the prize and never blink. If you stop believing, your entire enterprise will be called into question. But back to reality. This is all about yousitting in your office wondering how to tackle those massive hurdles in front of you nowtoday. Here’s some tactics you can use that are proven to work: Breathe: When you feel yourself procrastinating over a difficult task on your list, stop for a few minutes to prepare yourself. No, don’t make another coffee. Purposely take some slow, deep breaths and count backwards from five or six each time. As you are counting, you will not be able to feel nervous, anxious or worried. Do this for at least one minute (ideally five) and time yourself. This interrupts the old habit loops and only allows you to concentrate on counting backwards and watching the clock, and not on the actual task. You’ll feel better after thisguaranteed. Think: Choose an ‘Anchor Thought’. It might be the trip you are about to take as a result of the action you are about to do. It might be high-fiving one of your colleagues or family when you get the result you are after. As soon as you finish your breathing, bring this thought into your mind. Really see yourself in the picture. This will give you the drive for the next step Do: Act immediately. Don’t hesitate and just do it. Do it while you are energised about your goals. You will make mistakes as you build your business to the next level a ton of them, just like Richard. But remember your goal and don’t stop for anything. Give yourself time to breathe, think of what’s driving you and then just do itone task at a time. 07.01.2022 We have launched Ozee Markets Booking Manager last month - Ozee Markets Booking Manager (https://www.ozeemarkets.com.au/). The cloud based booking system is ver...y similar in concept with event booking systems like EventBrite, TryBooking or StickyTickets. The difference is our booking system is built for local markets and online market stall booking. It is designed specifically to make it easy for market organisers to list and manage their markets online and allow stall holders to select and book stall positions based on any parameters or restrictions (i.e. food only) the market organiser may have designated for the stall position. If you know of any market organisers that are still manually keeping track of their market bookings using spreadsheets, could you kindly point to Ozee Markets? Best regards, Patrick
