24.01.2022 For my Podiatry colleagues that would like to perform post operative care for their patients, I will be filming more videos on how to assess surgical site, how to change dressings, remove sutures, and more. Here is the first video on how to change a dressing after bunion surgery. (Apologies not the best quality) https://youtu.be/C73nfKW3G5Q

20.01.2022 Suffering with Painful Bunions? We will be posting regular before-and-after pictures of our patients feet, so you can see what can be achieved with a 45 minute procedure. Our goals are to relieve pain, help with footwear fit, re-align the joint to prevent osteoarthritis, and to prevent other toe deformities from forming (e.g hammertoes)... Consultation with our specialist Podiatrist, will give you the knowledge so you can make an informed decision. If surgery is not appropriate for you, we work closely with Podiatrists in Sydney, regional NSW and the ACT, that we can recommend to help you with conservative care. The below pictures are 8 weeks after surgery.

18.01.2022 Severely ingrown nail treated surgically using a technique called a wedge resection. The nail and inflamed tissue is excised and then closed with suture.

17.01.2022 An excellent interview with my colleague Dr. Omar Baarini on bunions, general podiatry and the charity work he performs. Starts at 15min mark. https://www.facebook.com/2093385217599549/posts/2501500700121330/?sfnsn=mo

17.01.2022 Bunions: The two most common reasons why people have bunion surgery is because of pain and footwear fitting issues. This lovely lady was referred by her Podiatrist. Here are pictures of before and 2 weeks after surgery.

14.01.2022 The Hyprocure implant can be useful in treating flexible flat foot deformity, when other treatments fail to reduce pain, including orthotics and bracing. Here is a video going through the surgical procedure and explaining how it works. https://youtu.be/rEA29PsdUm0

12.01.2022 It has been years since I have run an injection workshop. Enjoyed going through Tibial nerve blocks with a few colleagues. https://youtu.be/3nF-HZPeu-4

12.01.2022 Do you suffer from PAINFUL CORNS? Most people are very satisfied with Podiatry care when it comes to removal of painful corns. If you have corns and have not seen a Podiatrist, definitely consult with one! A small number of people unfortunately do not get long term relief in pain, with the corns returning within a few weeks, leading to pain when wearing footwear.... There is a permanent solution. We have put together a short video that describes the entire process https://youtu.be/XrQmMcl4I3k #corns #surgeryforcorns #podiatry #podiatricsurgery #footandankle #footandanklesurgery #podiatricsurgerycentre

10.01.2022 Haglunds deformity refers to the enlarged bump on the back of the heel, which can become painful with excessive footwear pressure. If you have this condition, Podiatrists can treat this with padding, orthotics and footwear modifications. When conservative care fails, the bump can be removed permanently with a minor surgical procedure. https://youtu.be/l2mCJsk41o4

09.01.2022 From the red and inflammed hypergranulation tissue it easy to see why this ingrown nail was very painful. The wedge resection was recommended to the patient by a Podiatry colleague and I agreed this was a good choice of procedure. Here are a few before, during and after surgery pics.

07.01.2022 Heel pain in children is common, and one of the reasons for this is due to a condition called Severs disease. Here is a short assessment of my daughter who ended up having this problem. https://youtu.be/FXXDEkVe_ZU #heelpain #seversdisease #podiatry #podiatricsurgery #footandankle #footandanklesurgery #podiatricsurgerycentre

05.01.2022 Flatfoot deformity can be caused by many reasons. This lady had Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction that caused painful flat foot, which unfortunately did not respond to orthotics and other conservative treatments. The surgery performed included Hyprocure implants and tendon transfer. Here are a few before and after pictures.

04.01.2022 https://youtu.be/3QMSB2j2tMo Treating a flexible hammertoe is much easier than waiting for the deformity to become rigid. Dr Oz demonstrates a tendon release using minimal incision surgery.

04.01.2022 Painful flatfoot deformity is well treated conservatively with exercises and orthotics prescribed by a Podiatrist. For people who have no relief in pain, then flat feet can be corrected surgically. This video describes one surgical approach. https://youtu.be/RfJOc92umXo

01.01.2022 Our patient had her bunion and tailors bunion operated on today, for both feet. The surgical procedure is obviously important, however the post surgical care is even more so.
