An incredible feat from these 2 riders who have never ridden 300kms in a day before, all to raise money and awareness for the #PoliceFamily. 12.01.2022 Over the past year, we’ve undertaken a comprehensive strategic refresh to modernise and build a bank that reflects the needs and financial goals of our members. We’re exceptionally proud of the work we’ve done to deliver you a stronger bank that is now well-positioned to thrive far into the future. Police Bank’s purpose to support and empower the well-being of the Police and Border Force families for generations to come has been re-enforced by the work we have done this year. We look forward to continuing to offer best-in-class products and services to all of our Members. Click the link below to read the 2020 Annual Report. #thestrengthofcommunity

11.01.2022 Following the 2020 Director Elections, we are very pleased to announce that Directors Robert Redfern and David Hudson were returned for another term, while we welcome former Deputy Commissioner Nick Kaldas, who was voted in as a Director and will join the Board on 26th November. Deputy Chair Raff Del Vecchio will be stepping down after 12 years of dedicated service on the Board. Raff has made an enormously important contribution to the bank over the past 12 years, overseeing... its transition from PCU to Police Bank, and serving as Chair of the Governance and Remuneration Committee was pivotal to the overhaul and modernisation of our governance practices. Most recently, Raff held the position of Deputy Chair, where he was instrumental to the restructuring of the Bank that has set us up to thrive. We can see the success of this reboot already, with record-breaking months of origination during what is a challenging time in the banking landscape. We look forward to the commitment of former Deputy Commissioner Nick Kaldas whose election to the Board by our members reflects our deep connection with the policing family. Nick brings with him a wealth of experience, having held senior roles in the NSW Police Force Executive in a career as an NSW Police Officer spanning almost 35 years. On behalf of all members, we'd like to welcome Nick to the Police Bank board and share our appreciation for the contribution that Raff has given to Police Bank.

07.01.2022 This National NAIDOC Week we acknowledge that the very first footprints on this continent belonged to First Nations People, as we celebrate our First Nations' 65,000+ year history of Australia! #NAIDOC2020 is a chance for us all to see, hear and learn more about the hundreds of nations that covered Australia, who managed the land to sustainably provide for their futures for thousands of years. The winner of this year's NAIDOC Week poster (as seen below) is Tyrown Waigana, a ...23 year old Perth based artist and designer. Tyrown recently described the concept behind his artwork: The Rainbow Serpent is represented by the snake and it forms the shape of Australia, which symbolises how it created our lands. The colour from the Rainbow Serpent is reflected on to the figure to display our connection to the Rainbow Serpent, thus our connection to country. The overlapping colours on the outside is the Dreamtime. The figure inside the shape of Australia is a representation of Indigenous Australians showing that this country - since the dawn of time - always was, and always will be Aboriginal land. If you would like to take part in any of this week's NAIDOC events, head to https://www.naidoc.org.au/get-involved/naidoc-week-events #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe

07.01.2022 There's 26 days until the Remembrance Bike Ride and an incredible $12,876 has already been donated by the Police Family to support the vital work of NSW Police Legacy! Our 300ks in a day riders Raff, Brian and Mal have also managed to raise a huge $3060 and counting! But they'll need your help to raise as much as possible to help ensure that those families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty are not left behind. If you would like to contribute to the ride, visit the link below, or if you would like to organise your own ride and help raise money for NSW Police Legacy, visit https://bit.ly/3dNTmbB! #theStrengthofCommunity

02.01.2022 We’ve been asked a lot recently why we ask so many questions when we talk to members on the phone. The simple answer is to protect you from fraud and scammers. It’s why we ask the questions to prove it’s actually you. But here’s a list of things Police Bank staff will NEVER ask you

02.01.2022 Members, I hope you and your families are all well and coping with everything that 2020 has thrown at you. I am writing to you in the lead up to the 2020 AGM and Director elections to give you a quick update as to how your Bank is tracking. You will receive the voting documentation early this week and our Annual Report will be on our website once the annual audit is completed in the next couple of weeks. The past financial year has been challenging for us all and the Bank i...n particular. Even before COVID-19, the banking environment was extremely tough with the lowest interest rates on record and shrinking margins between the lending rate and the borrowing rate meaning that our surplus was lower than expected. Because of our traditionally cautious approach we have strong capital and liquidity to ensure that our Bank remains resilient and safe. Nevertheless, in late 2019 it was apparent significant change was necessary to secure the future of Police Bank as a sustainable standalone entity. We’ve undertaken a strategic reboot which saw us redeploy resources to where members are increasingly transacting with us online, through the app, and using tap-and-go. Over the past 5 years, before the impact of COVID-19, we had seen a 40% to 60% decrease in transaction volumes at our Branches. We needed to invest in technology and provide our members working ‘round the clock with mobile lenders and other services they need. Importantly, it will enable Police Bank to continue our support for Police Legacy and other police charitable causes as well as individual members in need. I am pleased to report the work undertaken by your Board and the new management team has ensured that Police Bank is well positioned to thrive and continue to assist police and their families gain financial security. In fact, our first results have been extraordinarily promising with a strong surplus and an annualised loan growth of 7.1% well above the market. Whilst there is a long way to go the indications are the restructure is working and will consolidate our bank for the future. You can be confident that your Board has demonstrated their absolute commitment to the future of the bank. We met 19 times in the last financial year on top of committee work to ensure we got the changes right and had weekly catch ups over zoom to monitor the impact of COVID-19. I am proud of their efforts and humbled to have been given their confidence by electing me as Chair. Three of them, Deputy Chair Raff Del Vecchio, Chair of Audit Robert Redfern and Dave Hudson are seeking re-election and I have no hesitation in asking that you support them given the work they have done and the commitment they have demonstrated. Peter Remfrey Chair
