18.01.2022 The Bush Fire Danger Period will offically start on the 1st October 2020 for the Southern Tablelands Zone (Goulburn Mulwaree, Upper Lachlan & Yass Shire Council... areas). If you intend to continue undertaking burning activities you will need a permit, as well as notifying your neighbours and the fire control centre - failure to do so, can result in a substantial fine being issued. Sheep ...graziers are warned that cold temperatures, rain and showers and westerly winds are expected during Wednesday. Areas likely to be affected include the Southern Tablelands and Australian Capital Territory districts and parts of the Central Tablelands, South West Slopes and Snowy Mountains forecast districts. 10.01.2022 The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast a heat wave to affect parts of NSW later this week. This is likely to increase fire dangers especially in western parts of the state. Use the next few days to plan and prepare. Know what you will do if threatened by fire.

10.01.2022 Heavy rain and winds are expected in the next few hours. A cold front will skim across southern NSW on Tuesday, accompanied by increasing westerly winds. For ar...eas above 1900 metres: DAMAGING WINDS averaging 80 to 90 km/h, with gusts in excess of 110 km/h, are possible from Tuesday morning. For areas below 1900 metres: DAMAGING WINDS, averaging 60 to 70 km/h, with gusts in excess of 90 km/h, are possible during Tuesday afternoon. Locations which may be affected include Nowra, Bowral, Braidwood, Goulburn, Cooma, Bredbo, Adaminaby, Nimmitabel and Khancoban. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Move vehicles under cover or away from trees. * Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony. * Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences. * Trees that have been damaged by fire are likely to be more unstable and more likely to fall. * Report fallen power lines to either Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093) as shown on your power bill. * Stay vigilant and monitor conditions. Note that the landscape may have changed following bushfires. * For emergency help in floods and storms, ring your local SES Unit on 132 500. The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 11:00 pm AEST Monday. Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
