24.01.2022 Made my eldest child's favourite dessert tonight: Frangipane tart with swirls of homemade jam. The acidity of the fresh berries and the cool of the Chantilly cream complements the hot, sweet, gooey filling and crumbly pastry! Check out the ingredients label for a well known pie brand...only 13% vegetables, 13% chicken, "chicken flavour", emulsifiers. I made chicken and vegetable pies for dinner with more vegetables than chicken; at a ratio of 2 to 1. Kids didn't even notice and gobbled it up!! Easy to freeze and only 40 minutes in the oven till golden brown. Made individual and family sized pies. 07.01.2022 Saturday means meat day! Made chapli kababs using my mother's recipe. So tender and juicy and full of fresh ingredients!! They freeze well for up to 3 months, so made extra.
