25.01.2022 I've seen a few of these type of inflatable pools on sale over the past few months. It concerns me that retailers, manufacturers and the general public are being naive as to the safety risks imposed by these. It quite clearly states on the front of the box that "Pool Fencing Laws Apply To This Pool". That means that in Queensland you cannot inflate and put water into this pool without having a compliant pool safety fence. Manufacturers put a sticker on the box and wash their ...hands of it. Retailers don't care, they just want the sale. And parents are just ignorant, and choose to run the risk. I'd like to see retailers take more responsibility in the sales process, by providing more upfront advice and coaching to parents, and also to register that sale with the government/local council so that appropriate compliance can be ensured. At Local Pool Inspections we can provide appropriate advice and can attend and verify your pool safety fence is complaint. Just $85 for the inspection and $39.45 for the Safety Certificate. 24.01.2022 With the busiest part of the holiday period over many of us are getting back into our normal routine. Now is a good time to review your current pool safety status. If you are selling you need a current certificate for a pool or spa. If you are renting your property or it is an AirBnB then you will need a current certificate as well. And if the pool is a shared pool within a complex, then you need a new certificate every year. If you have an inflatable pool, check the safety r...egulations as these are not exempt and you may need a compliant pool safety barrier installed. If you want to do a quick check of your pool barrier then download our simple checklist which covers most items and, of course, you can always give us a call for a consultation if you are unsure. We can inspect your pool or provide an advisory service for $85 (gst inc) and the certificate will cost $39.45. www.localpoolsafetyinspections.com.au

22.01.2022 Happy first day of Summer! Please remember that if you're thinking of purchasing a portable swimming pool that can hold over 300mm of water, you must fence ...it. If you don't, you may be in breach of the law. To learn more about Queensland's pool safety requirements, visit https://qbcc.build/2R4b6Gt #poolsafetyqld

19.01.2022 Remember it's your responsibility as a pool owner to ensure that your swimming pool (or spa) has a conforming pool barrier to ensure the safety of our kids. In this case the tree is growing and is pushing against the pool fence and moving it out of alignment. Pool Safety Inspections only $85 plus the cost of the certificate.

17.01.2022 With summer temperatures starting to hit Queensland it's important to remember that in the majority of cases where a young child has gained access to the pool area and drowned, the access point was through a gate that was propped open. Please ensure that you have correctly functioning pool gates and that you do not use latches or movable objects to prop the gate open.

15.01.2022 Local Pool Inspections can provide advice or certify your swimming pool barrier for just $85 (plus the cost of the certificate). Give us a call. And remember that it doesnt matter how good your pool fence is, you still need to be vigilant with your children when theres water around.

11.01.2022 Don't let this happen to you. The senator failed (after repeated reminders) to register his swimming pool and has paid the penalty ($4,300 inc court costs). In Queensland it is the law that you must register you swimming pool or spa. It's easy. Just go to https://my.qbcc.qld.gov.au/s/ and click on "Pool Register". https://www.smh.com.au//not-going-to-waste-the-court-s-tim

11.01.2022 Another perfect example of when a pool barrier is non-compliant. A young child can easily climb into your pool area from your neighbour's yard and fall in. Remember, it is YOUR responsibility as the pool owner to ensure the safety of others. The simplest fix here is to install clear perspex panels that increase the effective height of your barrier to 1800mm, whilst still maintaining the aesthetics of the area.

09.01.2022 Having the family over to swim in the pool these holidays? Always have an adult supervising the kids, and make sure your pool area is safe. Use our free onli...ne pool safety checklist as a guide to self assess whether your pool meets Queensland's pool safety standard. If you're unsure, get in touch with a licensed pool safety inspector. To access our pool safety checklist, visit https://qbcc.build/2B5V9WH See more

08.01.2022 Statistics suggest that there are more than 10% of pools in Qld that are not registered. Its simple. Just follow the link.

08.01.2022 If you need an inspection or just advice you can contact Local Pool Inspections. 0404 821 846

07.01.2022 A quick pool safety reminder - If your swimming pool is noncompliant your pool safety inspector will issue you a Form 26 Nonconformity Notice. Nonconformitie...s must be fixed as soon as possible. There is a three month re-inspection period, but that doesnt change the pool owners legal obligation to be compliant at all times. Owners needing pool safety certificates for selling or leasing can find a licensed pool safety inspector by visiting https://qbcc.build/2RZmeBc | #PoolSafetyQld

07.01.2022 Don't let your swimming pool spoil your Australia Day weekend. If you are planning a BBQ or gathering at your place for family and friends and you have a swimming pool then make sure you follow some simple rules to ensure a great event and weekend. 1. Allocate a time slot during the day when the pool is "open" for use e.g. 2:00pm - 4:00pm.... 2. Prepare a roster of responsible adults, allotting 15 minutes each, during which time they are solely responsible for monitoring the pool. During this time they are not drinking or partying and are actively supervising the swimming pool. If you follow these rules then everyone gets to spend time enjoying themselves and the kiddies get constant supervision whilst in the pool. You can even make it fun by giving the "pool supervisor" a special hat to where. And it will help if your pool has a compliant pool safety barrier. If you are not sure then you can give us a call for a safety inspection. www.localpoolsafetyinspections.com.au

06.01.2022 Portable or inflatable swimming pools that can be filled to more than 300 mm require a safety barrier. If you are buying one for Xmas please check that you have everything you need to protect the children. And always watch your kids near water. www.9news.com.au

04.01.2022 Every swimming pool needs to display a compliant CPR sign. This sign is required to be displayed in a highly conspicuous location so that it can be seen from anywhere inside the pool area. The purpose of the sign is to provide people that do not have First Responder Training with the information necessary to assist in the case of an emergency. Please check that you have a compliant sign, that its in a conspicuous location, and that is is still readable. And make sure your kids are always supervised when near the swimming pool. www.localpoolsafetyinspections.com.au
