25.01.2022 | FOR THOSE WHO PREFER CAKE | High Tea dates have been released! Join us for a one and a half hour cruise along the Torrens River with an authentic High Tea experience.... Departing the Elder Park Landing, you will be served your refreshments and given time to catch up with friends and loved ones amidst a scenic tour of the Adelaide Riverbank on our very own Adelaide icon Popeye. Pre order a bottle of something special to be waiting for you on arrival or save the decision making for the day at our on board bar with Aperol Spritz and G&Ts galore. The tables are set with vintage mismatched fine English china and on them a selection of finger sandwiches, scones, petit fours. Served with a complimentary glass of South Australian bubbly, beer, cider or soft drink on arrival and of course a bottomless cup or coffee or tea from T Bars Australiana collection. https://www.facebook.com/events/1199134090420297/

25.01.2022 Spring time splendour & fun, right on your city doorstep .

25.01.2022 Spot the s. Seagul Sally has decided our safety boat Brutus would be a good spot to lay her eggs. Moored safely on the outside of our Popeyes not in use, we agree. Although.. a tree would have been a good option too. Well just continue to duck when Sally goes to swoop us until we have some little chicks one morning! A day in the life

20.01.2022 Some fantastic feedback regarding our Devonshire tea cruise from Kylie of Greenwith Primary School. Reviews like this truly make our work feel a little easier and start us off with a wider smile than usual . "We booked for 17 of our Support staff to have the afternoon off and go on the Popeye with Devonshire tea to celebrate SSO week across schools. Booking was simple and we received a call the day prior to check if there were any changes required.... On the day our group got stuck in unusual traffic and were running late. We received a call to check if all was okay. When I said that we were going to be at least 15 minutes late, they were very accommodating and offered to allow our group to go on the cruise at 12.45 after our actual booked cruise. The cruise itself was great, Tony had lots of interesting information about The River and Adelaide. The scones were beautiful and fluffy. Thank you very much for the fantastic service, we all enjoyed our afternoon. Highly recommended to people who live in Adelaide and people visiting."

19.01.2022 COVID-19 Update. As we keep informed with current government health warnings we have to make some hard decisions for Popeye. As we operate to serve a lot of interstate and overseas tourists, as well as customers within the high risk category (concerning age and any pre-existing medical conditions) the decision has been made to place our cruises on hold and cease operation for today. The utmost importance is placed with our employee and customer health and wellbeing. Popeye i...s to serve the community as much as ever in this time of uncertainty and what that looks like for us right now is limiting non-essential human interaction, practising social distancing and incorporating regular thorough hand washing and personal hygiene. Were here to support each other, to make sure were being considerate of the more vulnerable members of our community and listening to health experts and hopefully in turn seeing less stress placed on our incredible health care workers and hospital systems. We have a small team who relies on Popeyes employment but one thing we all rely on immeasurably is our physical health and wellbeing. As small business who relies so heavily on the tourisms industry this is really going to hurt. But we do have faith that once again we see community support and comprehensive government assistance for small businesses everywhere, we will get through this. Please, if its at all possible and you have the time or money to spare, leave a review at your favourite small businesses facebook or google page, purchase gift cards, leave an extra tip. Any thing you can do to help that doesnt compromise that social distance. A more in depth plan will be put in place later today regarding the coming weeks and our page will be updated accordingly.

17.01.2022 A few days ago we had the great pleasure of meeting Harold Lounders grandson and great granddaughter on Popeye. Lounders built the old Popeye boats in 1937 meters away from our current office situated in the Adelaide park lands, now known as Lounders Boatshed. How time flies. #MyAdelaide

10.01.2022 Were back! After a quiet few months working behind the scenes, revising our safety procedures, performing maintenance to our lovely Popeye l, ll and lll and planning how to take on the tail end of the year, were finally here. Weve missed being in the great outdoors and watching your smiling faces enjoy our office on The Torrens River. Its been quiet without you and while productive, has reminded us why we love our jobs and ultimately why we do what we do. Our aim is to w...elcome all passengers and acquaint you as best we can with our humble city thats been quietly shining in the midst of this uncertainty. As a private company were in the same position as many others. Our hope is that we can continue serving the future generations the way we have served for the last 85 years. We are offering a select few products to welcome you all back, these products will change and evolve and we hope you can understand the need to test the waters (no pun intended). If youve got some spare change, buy a gift card for a loved one, meet us on board our events, share our posts, or mention us to friends searching for something to do. We only support local business on board so trust that with any cruise any food and beverage purchased will be going straight back into our state, back to your neighbours. Were happy to be here. We hope you are too. Happy cruising.

10.01.2022 Popeye is currently closed. As the COVID-19 situation evolves for everyone please do keep an eye here and on our website for any updates regarding our opening times in the future. We hope every one is staying safe and protecting the more vulnerable within our community. ... This is certainly not the party we had expected for our 85th year but through hardship we will come out wiser, kinder and stronger. Its our belief that spending quality time in nature with family, friends and loved ones will be treasured more than ever and we cant wait to honour those experiences when were operating as normal again. We will be in contact with anyone that has a booking within the affected timeframe, please know that we are working to reach you and appreciate your patience in waiting for us to contact you in regard to your options. Stay safe!
