25.01.2022 A few weeks ago, I was struggling with something very simple. I knew I wanted to record my classes for PorschaYoga.com in a beautiful space in my home but couldn't figure out how to move the furniture without help so I could use our living room. I thought about it and then let it go for a while, looking for other spaces to record and still enjoying the experience. 24.01.2022 Caught mid-movement. This morning I rose just before the sun. After a quick Google search, I set my alarm to 5:15, just before the time of sunrise for Queensland and made sure my Spotify playlist would be lovely and comforting as a gentle nudge ato open my eyes. Did you know you could do that? It's fantastic. Right now, as I type this about an hour later, the sun is just high enough to peak over neighbouring houses and is actually bathing me in buttery rays.... I've had time to brew my coffee and froth my milk, greet my 3-year old as she sleepily came downstairs, journal and draw, listen to all the birds begin their songs, and tidy up the kitchen while watching my Dad play his guitar on Facebook live (@johncareyinfo). It's not even 6:30 yet! Are you an early riser? 22.01.2022 Yesterday, I returned a bunch of unread books to the library. Instead of re-checking them out, I figured that if they were a priority in the first place, I would have read them! You will always make time for the things that are important to you. If it truly matters, you will find the time: get up earlier, stay up later, swap things around, add it to your multitasking, you'll figure it out. Also, just because some things take priority now, doesn't mean you'll never have the sp...ace for other things! Life will continue to rearrange itself. I'm sure I'll go back and grab some of those books again in a few weeks or so. Maybe then I'll actually read them. 12.01.2022 My youngest is constantly walking into walls, stubbing her toe on the step leading out of the kitchen (she's lived in this house basically all her life), and other "ouchies". I'm sure it's just a symptom of her wanting to do all the things all at once. For a 3-year old, that seems about right (she just entered the room wearing a dress-up doctor's shirt and unicorn fairy tutu). We might also find ourselves bumping into the same old issues when we're trying to do too much at on...ce. Stress, anxiety and overwhelm as well as frustration at the things outside of our control tend to rise to the surface around this time of year. So today I'm encouraging you to spend a little time doing one thing, just one thing. Are you having a cup of coffee or reading a book? Sending an email? We switched on deep core muscles, learned how to grip with our fingertips for extra stability and practised taking flight (with a pillow nearby for soft crash landings). 02.01.2022 You are the concious creator of your own life. It took me a while to realise I was unconsciously creating everything that was happening in my life. Only a month ago, I was feeling really stuck and frustrated. I was spending money and time on all these business and self-help spiritual "gurus" and everyone was saying the same thing in different words. And it didn't matter because none of it really worked anyway. Honestly, the only thing that has worked for me is remembering tha...t I am a concious creator. No one else can create my life for me. So when I am feeling low, I immediately try to shift that vibration to a better one (nothing wrong with feeling your feelings! Every emotion is a message! But instead of crying because my dad is unwell right now, I've decided to focus on how blessed I am to have him as my father and how much love and gratitude I have for him and it lifts me up.) In the mornings, I write down the emotions I want to feel and I get myself hype for the day ahead. I put on some happy, booty-shaking music and move, dance and sing along. I put on clothes that make me feel good and take aligned and inspired action. This has been wonderful. Hubby has just been watching me glow and he's like, "wow, you're having a really great two weeks," because my business is thriving again! I am amazed. Get consciously creating everyone!!
