21.01.2022 SUPPORT AFTER SUICIDE group running Wednesday August 26th at 5 Sherwood Road, Port Macquarie. If you are missing your person, if it is hitting you even harder than normal during these times, we are here for you. Please join us between 6pm and 8pm next week. This is a COVID safe meeting space.... Right now, we all need to know we're supported. If you can not make the group, we are here for you 24/7 on 13 11 14 or nightly via Lifeline Text. 20.01.2022 Here is a reflection from Kashia, one of our Year 11 Street Retreat students from MacKillop College. "The destination of this morning's Streat Retreat activity was the Neighbourhood Centre in Wauchope where a group of us were completely amazed by the amount of food that OzHarvest and Coles had donated. Upon arrival, we were quickly put to work, with a couple of students cooking up a storm on the BBQ and providing a warm breakfast for those who needed it. Veggies were sorted ...and bagged, bread was set out and then the Food Connect service was ready for action. The lovely ladies in charge had such warm, welcoming personalities and made everyone around them feel so valued. When people came to collect food, I was lucky enough to be serving them and I felt a real sense of fulfilment watching their appreciation for this service. This gratitude and fulfilment has been consistent across the past week as we have participated in several activities around our local area. I think that the best part of this 'retreat in daily life' has been that we have been able to see the impact that these organisations are having in our local area. It is crazy to think that there are so many people living such different lives to us in such close proximity. This week has definitely been eye-opening for all of us and we have all gained a sense of appreciation for the local organisations helping those in need." - Kashia

17.01.2022 Picked up from Pearl Bay Framing and Trophies today. Had a full load. Remember you can still donated and we are after more brushes, combs and deodorant at the moment. Donation drop offs- Hastings Co-Op IGA at sovereign hills, Wauchope and Port Macquarie, Neighbourhood centre at Port Macquarie and Lake Cathie, New Horizons Port Macquarie and Bonny View Store. Thanks to Designer Living Kitchens for the amazing boxes.

MacKillop College would like to thank everyone who has been involved with our Street Retreat ministries and a special thanks to Lisa at Lifeline for letting us hijack this page! Here are some words from one of our Y11 students, Sienna. She sums up perfectly how we all feel :) "I want to acknowledge and express my undying gratitude to the volunteers who constantly interact with disadvantaged individuals. The last few days have really opened my eyes to kindne...ss and generosity. These courageous men and women have truly inspired me, so a massive massive thank you is in order. I find myself very privileged after experiencing these events and I want to inform you of the beautiful people that are homeless. Their stories are unlike anything I've heard and I'm so thankful that they found the courage to confide in me or another person - they are truly worthy of our respect. Street Retreat has been incredible I will try to continue this service into my life once the retreat is over." - Sienna Thanks again, everyone! You guys do truly incredible work :)
