25.01.2022 Afloat magazine's article on our recent Port Cygnet Regatta. (sorry I have had to break it up into three pages)

23.01.2022 There is now a new webpage for PCSC, a boat gallery page where owners present their boats, whether they be racers, cruisers, rowboats, powerboats, whatever. If people can send me photos and words we can form them into a page on our gallery. I, completely objectively of course, have set the die with a Fleetwing page. The page is under the About tab on the PCSC website. See https://www.cygnetsailing.org.au//fleetwing-farrier-f-9-a/ Photo below courtesy of Paul Macmichael... PS. any photos of Fleetwing, especially the near capsize moment last year, would be gratefully appreciated. See more

21.01.2022 The slip at the sailing club has to be the most awesome place to visit regularly. You won't find more interesting boats anywhere!

20.01.2022 Proper boats proliferate at Port Cygnet. Peter Kettlewell launched Harry's Flat Out on Wednesday, meaning there are now 3 trimarans at PCSC. It took a combined effort of many club members to re-assemble Harry's old tri, with Fleetwing looking on in the background, very approvingly. Look out Etchells! 1

17.01.2022 PCSC Slipway upgrade commences 15 July 2020 This long-planned for development, which will ensure that pollution from slipway activities will not enter our precious waterways, will commence Wednesday 15 July. The slip, boat ramp and dinghy racks will be out of action during this upgrade and we expect works to be complete around the end of August. We will be able to be more precise about resuming normal activities later down the track. The dinghy rack closest to the slipway w...ill have to be moved, so all owners of dinghies and tenders in the racks are asked to consider what they will be doing with their dinghies over that time. It's a great time to get that much needed maintenance sorted. We will be calling for volunteers to help with this move in the near futures See more

17.01.2022 Heated happiness at last night’s Port Cygnet Sailing Club’s Curry Night!

17.01.2022 Gretel 11 is coming to Port Cygnet again this year. Steven Shields has announced that he has entered her in this year's Port Cygnet Regatta...great news!

13.01.2022 Yesterday's first race of Port Cygnet Sailing Club's Autumn Series, saw some exciting racing. Several close ups of our yacht Catherine M in the thick of the action. A great afternoon's sailing! Photos by Helene Young

12.01.2022 Here it is...the video of the 2020 Port Cygnet Sailing Club's annual Regatta. This event would not be possible without the support of the Club's amazing member volunteers that make this event the success it is every year. Thanks to Jessica Coughlan (video production) and partner Aaron Bristow (drone footage) who managed to deal with the contrasts of Hobart's gale force winds on one occasion to sweet Autumn winds on another day. This Regatta, first run in 1896, is achieved through a combination of enthusiastic sailors from our Cygnet club and the continuing support of the numerous, surrounding Hobart sailing clubs. The Regatta is a means for all Hobart sailors, racing and classic alike to enjoy warm social interaction in a sailor's paradise on the D'Entrecasteaux Channel.

11.01.2022 Club opening day was a great success, despite the very rainy day and lack of wind. Lots of people turned up, including the junior sailors for a wetsuit swap and buy day? While on this subject, if anyone has a wetsuit or booties that are no longer needed, (they do have a habit of shrinking as you get older, especially over 40), it will be great to be able to offer them to our junior sailors. Our new RIB features in some of these photos, all taken by Sarah Dempsey from the "Woodbridge".

11.01.2022 Junior Sailing kicks off Saturday 17 October, and we have a new 6 m RIB as a response boat. We need volunteers to drive this and we are offering 2 powerboat handling courses, one on Thursday 22 October, one on Saturday 14 November, 5 participants each course. See our events page for further details: https://www.cygnetsailing.org.au/events/

11.01.2022 Out of control in 2020 Port Cygnet Regatta Race, Beaupre to Kettering Race. Only three up in a 35 knot gale, Mike and Jeff dropped the mainsail to help Steven maintain control of the yacht.

09.01.2022 Me at the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmanian giving a presentation to last night's Twilight sailors on our forthcoming Port Cygnet Regatta.

09.01.2022 Things are starting to move...yippee!

08.01.2022 Heading up the Huon River this afternoon with Mike & Stephen on ‘Catherine M’ for a long distance race with Huon Yacht Club. A great day’s sailing!

07.01.2022 The Port Cygnet Sailing Club Boat Gallery page has a few more boats on show, with more promised. See https://www.cygnetsailing.org.au/about/pcsc-club-boats/ If you know of any boats that are or have been associated with the club, it would be great to have a story, a history, photos, dimensions, feats and mishaps, etc.... Easy to do, email me the text and the photos and I can create a webpage for each boat. Updatable at any time by the same process.

05.01.2022 A very special Christmas Party was held today at Port Cygnet Sailing Club. Great food, great gifts, great people...and a great time was had by all!!!

05.01.2022 An amazing selection of deserts for Diners at this week's Twilight Racing dinner!

04.01.2022 From Huon Yacht Club down the mighty Huon River to Cygnet in a strong 20 knot S/W average time was 2 hours. Several nice glasses of red were needed back at the Club. Incidentally, we came 3rd on handicap!

04.01.2022 Sticking my feet up! #pcscphotocomp2020

03.01.2022 A huge thank you to everyone that has helped me get GRETEL II sailing this year in her 50th Year which we all know has been so difficult for our owner Mike because of Covid. Let’s do so much more in 2021

02.01.2022 Don't forget to enter the 2020 Port Cygnet Regatta, March 6, 7 & 8. Entry close 4pm March 4. Every year gets bigger and bigger so don't miss the fun!

01.01.2022 Peter will be sadly missed by all who sail. He was a great friend and contributor to Port Cygnet Sailing Club. His support for our annual Regatta was unparalleled.

01.01.2022 Couta Boat ‘Rose’ built by Jeremy Clowes has been sold to New Zealand owner. Photos show her being loaded in preparation for her long voyage, comprising road to Devonport then two ships. One to Melbourne then transferred to a second ship to Auckland. Congratulations to Dave on your new purchase.

01.01.2022 Great racing again today...16 yachts raced in 12-15 knots of breeze. Great fun on the water...and back at the Club too!!!
