24.01.2022 Our resident swan family enjoying the beach....

24.01.2022 Probably my biggest day of work today ever, and Im doing it all again on Saturday. I am equipped to provide mobile treatments for groups. Today I provided 1x30 minute treatment, 7x45 minute treatments and 1x1hr treatment at Port Fairys amazing Southcombe Park Lodge for a group of visitors. I prefer to work without breaks and treatments are the same quality as those provided in my room in Port Fairy. I usually dont eat while I am working but was happy to accept a plate of snacks. Guess what I am doing tonight? ....washing towels!

23.01.2022 Gotta keep cool on a day like today..

23.01.2022 Sort of like I was back running in Hawaii. Maybe next year? (Ran around Koroit at sunrise participating in Honolulu's amazing half marathon.)

21.01.2022 Could not help but feel the Hawaiian Kahuna Principles on a recent trip to Cape Nelson just down the road from Port Fairy. In the Huna tradition there are 7 basic principles that govern life and the creation of existence. They are condensed in seven Hawaiian words. They arent easily translated into English language, so its best to use a sentence describing the essence of that word. The 7 fundamental principles of Huna are: IKE The world is what you think it is KALA Ther...e are no limits, everything is possible MAKIA Energy flows where attention goes MANAWA Now is the moment of power ALOHA To love is to be happy with MANA All power comes from within PONO Effectiveness is the measure of truth See more

19.01.2022 Couldnt resist stopping to take some pictures coming home after work tonight of our wonderful town all lit up for the first of 4 Winter Weekends. A couple of fishermen at the wharf where wondering what I was up to. Available for treatments all this long weekend; 7 days until late. www.portfairywinterweekends.com.au

19.01.2022 This could be you? Mobile treatments available 7 days until late. Port Fairy, Warrnambool, Koroit and the surrounding rural areas. ($15 mobile fee applies.) Treatment room available in Port Fairy.

18.01.2022 There was no better way to help my recovery than to have 2 Hawaiian style massage treatments the day of and a few days afterwards, complemented by soaks in a hot spa.

18.01.2022 Looking forward to visitors to Port Fairy and surrounds from Regional Victoria and Melbourne. We've all missed you. Should be a good Summer.

18.01.2022 Parts of Jurassic Park were filmed in Hawaii. Not quite in Hawaii today but still fun on a short time away.

17.01.2022 Hour long combination Hawaiian Kahuna and Lomi massage treatments have been popular this Summer holiday season. The weather has been balmy just like in Hawaii and the Hawaiian hibiscus have been flowering each day outside my room. A relaxing playlist shuffles in the background..a mixture of Hawaiian music and complimenting new age. Citrus oils are most suitable. Lime is the most popular. Relaxation taken to the next level.

16.01.2022 Happy to be expanding my business to finally include clients from Regional Victoria. A very big thank you to my local clients for supporting me over these really difficult times. Therapeutic and Remedial Treatments. I need to continue asking screening questions, limiting the number of clients I see each day and giving extra attention to cleaning. Masks will need to be worn at all times. I will take your temperature and provide hand sanitiser. Please do not be offended if I ask to see your driver's licence. Port Fairy businesses have been doing it tough and we have been missing our visitors and their support. Missing my Melbourne clients. Hope you are all OK and that things continue to improve. Stay well. Stay safe.

16.01.2022 Sometimes its good just to stop and enjoy the moment......This is one of my favorite cropped photos, but all is not what it seems. This guy would have to be an expert at zoning out. He had a photographer in his space and thousands of people sitting behind him. For some people, a good deep relaxing massage would be a better option...

15.01.2022 Port Fairy showing off again this morning.

15.01.2022 Many clients when they arrive for their treatment, tell me of an old, sick, or injured magpie lying beside my driveway. Thanks for your concern. Most days you will find him sitting in the sun there out of the wind. I think he is just old, but perfectly well. Thanks for your concern. (His name is Bruce)

14.01.2022 Your comfort and safety are my priorities. All new clients are given a history form to complete before any treatment. Time taken to complete this form is not part of your treatment time, but if you would like to have the form completed before arrival, it can be downloaded and printed from this link. You may need to have Adobe installed. Also, you do not need to be sore, tight, injured or stressed to receive benefits from any treatment. Sometimes it is good just to relax with some time out. (Hope this link works for you. Took me many hours and many more failed attempts.) https://drive.google.com//1o0_ut_1eqUql6JMYpWYd71BBe/view

14.01.2022 Was hot and hard running on sand, but I virtually did it!

14.01.2022 Port Fairy is an amazing place during the Winter. At the moment, its all about frogs and rainbows. Had the pleasure late this afternoon to provide 2 90 minute treatments to a couple at an apartment right in the main street. After their massages, they were going to wander around the corner for dinner at one of our restaurants. We listened to the wind, the rain and the hail in between periods of bright sunshine. We were cosy and warm but it was freezing cold outside. Lots of great restaurants and cafes. The whales are in just down the road. Sometimes they can be seen in the bay here. Providing 2 more treatments tomorrow night at a farmhouse in Kirkstall after their children have gone to bed. YES, I do work Sunday evenings. I like to fit in with what is best for clients. 7 days until late. Your place or mine. Keep warm.

13.01.2022 Evening appointments available 7 days until late. Your place or at my room in Port Fairy.

12.01.2022 As well as treatments at my room in Port Fairy, I do offer mobile treatments at your home, holiday accommodation, workplace, hotel and motel 7 days until late. $15 mobile fee applies per visit. If more than one client, it is shared between them. Recently treated 5 clients at this riverside apartment. Was warm and still so we had the doors overlooking the river open. Port Fairy, Warrnambool, Koroit and the surrounding rural area. For treatments outside these areas, please contact me for additional time/distance travel charges. Photos are only taken in holiday accommodation; never in private homes or workplaces

11.01.2022 Was windy in Port Fairy today, but cosy and warm in my treatment room.

11.01.2022 First Hawaiian Hibiscus has just opened outside my room for Summer. A little later this year, but Summer has definately arrived. Keep well

10.01.2022 Feeling spoilt. Coffee and food in bed and its not even my birthday!. Seriously though, recovering from keyhole abdominal surgery yesterday. At home today and recovering well. I wont be available for treatments for a little while but hope to be back at work real soon. If you are after a treatment, please dont hesitate to call or text me as I know a really good Remedial Therapist I refer to and I can pass on contact details. I hope to resume massage, Bowen and Foot Reflexology Treatments soon, but Mobile and Hawaiian Treatments will take a little longer. Stay well.

10.01.2022 Managed to fit in a run and swim today between clients with the racehorses on the beach. They beat me! A balmy 36degrees today and warmer tomorrow. Just like Hawaii! The warmer weather is here and the town is preparing and sprucing up for the peak Summer tourist time. I always look forward to my busiest month of the year treating many return and new visitors to Port Fairy.

10.01.2022 Signs that Summer is here in Port Fairy. My Hawaiian Hibiscus bushes outside my room begin flowering for the next few months. A few open each day at about midday and shrivel up late afternoon.

09.01.2022 Professional Development day yesterday at Body Worlds Exhibition at The Melbourne Showgrounds. It was amazing to see the muscles, bones, organs, tendons and ligaments under the skin of real human bodies in many different poses. Shared the experience with Chris from Chris Frost Remedial Therapies, who also kindly offered to drive in Melbourne. Always good to catch up with another Remedial Therapist to talk shop. Well worth a visit if you can.

08.01.2022 One of Port Fairy"s annual highlights on its sporting calender is The Daschund Sausage Dog Races held today. Lots of little sore leg muscles. www.portfairywinterweekends.com.au

08.01.2022 Happy New Year from Honolulu. Popped back again for the fireworks. Better hot foot it to the airport. Working in Port Fairy tomorrow. Hope I have this crossing the dateline thing worked out the right way around. Managed a couple of Hawaiian massages too.

08.01.2022 Even though I had my covid jab a month ago and my flu shot a couple of days ago, I will continue to ensure a safe environment. Will not be complacent. Take care and stay well.

08.01.2022 Looking forward to seeing you all again when things improve. Stay safe, stay positive and stay home. Its been 3 weeks and 1 day since my last clients. The days are passing faster now which is good. (A model was used for photos. These photos were taken 3 years ago when I was unable to work or leave home for 7 1/2 weeks due to my leg operation. The crutches and leg brace were hidden under the table. I needed to get some photos in a hurry for an unexpected media release.)

08.01.2022 Hope to see you soon. Aloha.

08.01.2022 Bit lost today and not sure what to do. Today was the first day since Christmas Day that I had no bookings for treatments. Have just had the busiest month of the last 15 years of business. Thanks so much to everyone... visitors to town, returning visitor clients and my wonderful local clientele . Have enjoyed working with you all. Many days were 10 to 12 hours long, but I enjoyed every one of them. I slept very well and in my free time, I washed towels! I think every business... in town were working such long hours. Been a huge holiday period for the region. Wasnt sure what to do. Was thinking of getting out and about, maybe a run and an infrared sauna, but ended up just hanging around home; like this possum who has been eating my fruit on the plum tree each night. Couldnt really be bothered doing much at all so caught up on a few jobs and finally caught up with the laundry. Havent had empty baskets for a long time. Back in March 2016 I remember having a lost day as well and got sprung having a movie marathon on the couch in the daytime. Back at work again tomorrow. Looking forward to a holiday in December.....just reminiscing a little bit...... having a couple of Hawaiian massages in Hawaii and running the Honolulu marathon again. My kind of holiday; and no laundry! See more

06.01.2022 Social distancing is so important to help slow the spread of the current virus to everyone. Saddened to be closing my business of 16years until we get to the other side, but it needs to be done. My massage table is now on a break. We will all be spending more time at home. I always try to find positives so am planning using all this extra time I have for some projects around the house and garden. Work has kept me pretty fit, so am replacing it by getting out the exercise equipment which most of us have lying around gathering dust. Stay strong, healthy and positive and well get through this. Looking forward to catching up with family, friends and my wonderful clients when this is all over.

06.01.2022 Waiting for my next client. Beautiful weather in Port Fairy as usual. 30 degrees tomorrow? Just like Hawaii...

06.01.2022 Evening treatments available.

05.01.2022 A hot 44C in Port Fairy today. Have put away the polar fleece table coverings today and using towels so clients dont get too hot. I was in Honolulu yesterday and its only 26C there today! A cooler 22C in my room. Going to be a cooler and wet 16C tomorrow so might have to get them out again and put the heater on! I now have available coconut oil if you would like me to use it. Coconut oil is cooling so not good in Winter. Just let me know when booking, as at lower tempe...rature it solidifies and Ill need to warm it up. Today it is a liquid. Alternatively, I offer a range of sunflower based plain, relaxing, invigorating, warming, circulation and muscle relaxing oils containing 100% essential oils. I encourage clients to drink water after their treatment. I have plastic bottled water available for you, but you are very welcome to bring your own reusable bottle or have a drink when you get home if you prefer not to use plastic. Stay cool today, and stay warm and dry tomorrow. Love living on the coast. See more

04.01.2022 Hello everyone. Been awhile. Hope you are staying safe and healthy. Under Victorias Regional Stage 3 Restrictions, I am able to provide Therapeutic and Remedial Treatments for clients, but under strict procedures. I am currently providing treatments only for local clients in the Port Fairy, Koroit and Warrnambool areas in my room at Port Fairy. I am not providing mobile treatments. I am seeing very limited numbers of clients each day and my room is cleaned and santised befo...re and after each client. I will be wearing a mask and you will be required to wear one as well. I will be asking if you have any flu like symptoms or if you have been in contact with anyone who has. I will take your temperature. I will ask you to use my santiser. I have been sensible and not leaving home much. I also have the door open to the room next door just so we are in a larger room. People have been asking how I am doing and what I have been doing which is really nice. Im not one for sitting around. Ive been using my time well. I closed my business for more than 3 months. Ive managed to complete some Professional Development including a 3 day Dry Needling Workshop and taking Reiki to the next level by preparation and attunement to Rieki Master level. Also have begun some Indian Head Massage training. Something like 90 moves to become proficient at, so this might take a while! Always had an interest in photography so lashed out and bought a professional camera and lenses. Would like to start a small business. Will see how it goes. A lot of experimenting at the moment around our amazing town of Port Fairy. If you are interested, you can check me out at Facebook GadaboutphotographyPortFairy or Instagram Gadaboutphotographyportfairy Canman3284 I havent been running for about 6 weeks. Had a months break after an event and just when I was ready to resume training for Melbourne Marathon Festival in October which now looks unlikely. Got a call to attend hospital for vein surgery in both legs so my break from running has now been extended. Recovering very well and back at work, but not running for a few more weeks. Had been cancelled twice before, so was very happy and lucky to have surgery. This op will extend my working (and running) career. Still no plans to ever retire.Bit of gardening and garden projects. . Decluttering the house. Trying to organise the garage so cars can be housed. (Not going very well.) Put on 3 kgs! Just keeping busy and trying to stay positive. Well get there! Im doing OK and hope you all are too. Its OK to say youre not OK. Stay well. Take care. Hope to see you soon. See more

04.01.2022 Port Fairy is an amazing tourist destination with so much to experience. Visitors should keep their distance when encountering our resident seals which tend to be at the boat ramp attracted by people cleaning their fish catches. They are wild animals and can be aggressive; particularly during mating season. They may have a go at you and can give you a nasty bite. A woman recently received a very serious leg bite. Dont get too close.

03.01.2022 My business has been operating as normal but with some additional precautions during these challenging times we are currently experiencing. I have not been overseas recently or have been in contact with anyone recently returned from overseas. I have no flu like symptoms and I have not been in contact with anyone who has. I have never used a waiting room and space my appointments so clients always come straight in. Please never come early. I have been requesting clients to us...e my sanitiser on arrival and always question them regarding precautions they are taking. Please do not be offended if I ask you to postphone your appointment. We all need to be careful not to expose ourselves and others to this virus. I have always followed Universal Precautions. Between clients I disinfect surfaces, bathroom facilities if used, doorknobs and Eftpos machine. I have removed all soft layers on my table, including face crest and arm rest and now have only one fabric layer between the client and the vinyl covering. This means I can simply remove the covering for laundry and easily sanitise the table surface. Towels are always washed in hot water and air dried. My bin has a lid which I regularly empty and disinfect. Keep safe, healthy and positive. See more

01.01.2022 Well and truly back providing mobile treatments and Hawaiian Lomi and Kahuna massage treatments as normal after recovering from my second unexpected adventure in the hospital in 12 months. Always enjoy getting out and about and seeing things along the way, like this family of swans enjoying the sunshine at The Wetlands this afternoon on the way to work. 7 days until late. Your place or mine.

01.01.2022 Hello everyone. I am looking forward to reopening my business when this crisis finally passes. Its only been 10 days since I provided my last treatments but seems much longer. Just wanted to let you know that all gift vouchers purchased prior will be honoured when my business reopens again. They never expire and I will be very happy when they are presented. There are 12 purchased as Christmas gifts, 4 others purchased last year and 5 vouchers donated to various groups around town. Please dont forget to use them. Stay well, positive and isolated.
