23.01.2022 Duck RACE New Years Day 2021. Covid affected this event so we weren't able to advertise when/where it would be held! All Ducks were pre-sold & sold out, thanks to those who helped to sell them.... The Ducks were dumped into the sea this morning in front of the Surf Clubhouse to swim to the shore!! There were some pretty big sets rolling in so it made for a great race! The larger Corporate Ducks were the 1st to swim with "Houze of Hair" Sue Tieman's black & yellow duck making it to shore 1st. Then the 1500 little yellow ducks were released! What a spectacle it was! 1st over the line was the Duck purchased by Paul Macpherson, 2nd Charlotte Versace & 3rd Jude O'Brien.

19.01.2022 Planning for a COVID Safe Season Dear Members, We have been getting ready to get back to lifesaving and look forward to seeing you this summer. We are committed to keeping all members of the club safe, and we thank you for your support and understanding in these changing times. While we know this year is different, we are keen for lifesaving to continue. ... Here are some frequently asked questions regarding lifesaving in this COVID-19 year. More detailed information on specific activities such as patrols, training, nippers and sport will follow in the coming days and weeks. What are our goals and guiding principles for this COVID-19 year? To sustain our club and protect our people and the community, keeping safety and wellbeing at the forefront. To be adaptable, positive, and understand that being COVIDSafe is everyone’s responsibility. What does the return to lifesaving activities look like? Club facilities and activities will operate in a modified capacity based on our COVIDSafe plans in line with the Victorian Government Roadmap. Where necessary, exemptions for emergency services will be used for conducting essential activities, e.g. skills maintenance training. Clubs will be operating under COVIDSafe Plans, what do these include? Information about COVIDSafe Coordinators, contact tracing, and guides for signage, cleaning and PPE. Detailed modifications for all activities, such as maximum group sizes. Personal health declarations: Prior to participating in activities or attending a facility, members will need to complete the Personal Health Checklist and questions related to contact tracing will be asked onsite. We have also attached some information from Life Saving Victoria regarding accessing lifesaving facilities in a COVIDSafe manner. As Government restrictions continue to change we will endeavour to update you on information regarding specific activities and programs as it becomes available. Regards, Board of Management Port Fairy Surf Life Saving Club
