19.01.2022 When you have children, you always want what is best for them. When you have a child or family member with a disability, your greatest fear is what will happen to them when you can longer care for them. We are excited to be involved in such an ethical building project. Our two new Disability Support homes will see six residents live comfortably, providing reassurance for families that their loved ones are safe and being cared for in the best way possible. The homes comprise ...three large bedrooms with large private bathrooms as well as a private courtyard each. The carers room doubles as an office/meeting room for families and therapists. There is an open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area as well as a separate quiet lounge if residents just want to play games or read. The homes are aptly named "Namaste 1 & 2". This is quite fitting with our families close ties with Nepal. Namaste means many things; "We are the same - we are one" and "peace and comfort, fostering both peace of mind and long-term security. The project is aimed to have clients moved in before Christmas 2021. We would be delighted if you were able to pass on this wonderful news to any family or friends who are looking for "Improved Liveability" supported accommodation. It’s also been a year of thanks, love and gratitude. I’m never a fan of New Years resolutions - as they are just big ideas (that we usually forget about once someone passes you a plate of or offers you a ! ) How about this year you think of your resolutions as ‘a commitment contract’ to yourself. What is your idea? How are you going to execute it? What are the consequences if you don’t achieve it? What is the reward when you do achieve it? Who are you accountable to? 10.01.2022 Well it’s started. You know - all those ‘detox away your Christmas dinner’ - 30 day healthy challenges - shed the corona kilos! It makes me angry! ... Angry that people selling shakes and pills and dreams are preying on gorgeous souls that don’t need another detox or quick fix. If they worked, they still wouldn’t be selling them! And why don’t they work? Do you really want to know? Cos all you do when you deprive yourself of real food for 30 days, is look forward to the end of the 30 days so you can go back to eating shit food, drinking again and sitting on the couch in your oodie! Another pertinent reason none of these shitty diets/8 week challenges or detoxes fail is they don’t address the deep seeded habits or emotional relationships we have with food. I’ll stop scrolling now - calm my anger and enjoy my holiday breakfast - my everyday breakfast (with the added bonus of tropical fruit).
