24.01.2022 How I came home from walking the dog with my dinner: a novella I took the dog for a walk, stopped in and had a chat to different people. On my wanders a lovely man told me to meet me at the end of his house where he had a HUGE bag of cucumbers for me! yum! He grows them all from seeds that he's collected or been given, he's also happy to grow some extra seedlings to share. As there were too many for my household, I thought why not keep sharing? I stopped at my neighbour'...s and offered them some. In return they shared herbs and some other lovely things! This is what community is all about and growing and sharing food is one of my favourite ways to grow community. Zucchinis anyone?

20.01.2022 Hi all. We'll be down at the garden this Sunday (Markets) if you want to drop by. Please come and munch on some of our delicious tomatoes, or just marvel at the crazy anarchy of the pumpkins! There'll also be digging, planting and the opportunity to swap any of that crazy excess summer produce. x

17.01.2022 Message for all Crop 'n swappers from the wonderful lady that donated a great deal of our garden bed soil: " Do you know anyone in your gardening groups who might want some roses (including some around 100 years old with beautiful perfumes), unusual natives, or maybe some lilacs in exchange for propagating one of each for us as well? We’d happily provide materials or resources to make it happen and I can take the actual cuttings, I’d just rather trust someone else to make them live "

11.01.2022 Help! Our mattock just bit the dust and I was planning on doing some work tomorrow at the community garden. Does anyone have one I could pick up/borrow at about 9am?

10.01.2022 Wow! We just had almost 50 packets of seeds gifted to us by an immensely kind donor who can't manage to garden herself anymore. Now, if only we had some more garden beds to plant them in...:-)

07.01.2022 So, - a little mock-up of how we might utilise the space. If you're around, we'll be down there this evening after the worst heat has passed finishing off the circled garden bed. If anyone has any hardy herbs (lavender/rosemary) in pots you want to get rid of -they'd be perfect in this bed :-)

01.01.2022 January 25th update! I popped down to water ahead of the Australia Day weekend heatwave and found a few delightful surprises :-)
