24.01.2022 The Australian Army well begin to arrive in the region in the coming days ahead of Exercise Hamel, which is to be held in the Spencer Gulf from the 16th June ...- 14th July. Movements will increase as the exercise draws closer, where a number of soldiers, vehicles and aircraft will be based at the Port Pirie Aerodrome. An Open Day will be held at Memorial Oval on the 24th June from 11.00am- 3.30pm.

18.01.2022 Combat Team Possum, comprised of elements of the Darwin-based 1st Aviation Regiment - Australian Army and Townsville-based 5th Aviation Regiment, were based out... of Port Pirie, South Australia during Exercise Predators Strike. Many of the soldiers based at Port Pirie Aerodrome conducted flying operations in support of #1Brigade, while others provided maintenance, security, catering support and other ground-based assistance to the exercise.
