24.01.2022 We were so lucky and very privileged to be given a private show by 2 of our local dolphins earlier this month. They jumped clean out of the water on both sides of our jetty but unfortunately by the time we got our phone ready we were only able to catch the last 2 jumps further down the canal

24.01.2022 A reminder that the fishing closure for blue swimmer crabs remains in place until November 30. All waters, coastal, rivers and estuaries, from the Swan River to... Minninup Beach (15km south of Bunbury) are closed to blue swimmer crab fishing to protect breeding stock. The exception is Geographe Bay. It remains open to blue swimmer crab fishing all year however, there is a limit of five female crabs as part of the total bag limit of 10 crabs per fisher during the closure period. If you’re on a boat in Geographe Bay, you are allowed to possess 20 crabs per boat when there are two or more people on board, including a maximum of 10 female crabs. This is a timely reminder following a seizure last month of 14 Blue Manna crabs by fisheries and marine officers that were caught during the closed period in Bunbury. Make sure you check out the rules for blue swimmer crab fishing in Perth and the South West before heading out on your next fishing trip. 16.01.2022 #TRENDING on the menu for our dolphins lately is Cobbler. This bottom dwelling species of fish make a small migration towards, then up the rivers in winter and... the dolphins have caught onto this. So, we have been observing incredible cobbler toss action near the river entrances over the past few weeks (see photos). When the dolphins are hunting for cobbler well see them digging with their rostrum (snout) on the estuary floor, among the sea grasses and weed. Theyll then surface with a muddy face or a cobbler which they toss multiple times to disable the use of their venomous spines, making it safer and easier to swallow.
