24.01.2022 It’s exciting to see how our members are still connecting and socialising, albeit online now! The first Portsea Bookclub was recently held, discussing "The Shelly Bay Ladies Swimming Circle" book by Sophie Green. For anyone who is interested in joining the next virtual catchup, the Portsea Bookclub will be held on Wednesday 21st October. Keep an eye out for the upcoming e-boomer with details of the event and details of the book!

Wear It Purple Day strives to foster supportive, safe, empowering and inclusive environments for rainbow young people. Wear it Purple was founded in 2010 in response to global stories of real teenagers, real heartache and their very real responses. This year’s theme is 'We are the Change', and focuses on the importance of encouragement, empowerment and making real change for the LGBTIQ+ communit...y. As apart of the Lifesaving community, we all have a part to play in creating a safe, empowering and inclusive environment for rainbow youth. 20.01.2022 Congratulations to our Club President, Matt Mahon on being selected for the @slsaustralia National Leader's Masterclass! No doubt it will be a highly valuable and rewarding experience for you, both for your Lifesaving and personal career! The National Leaders’ Masterclass (Masterclass) is an annual leadership and development program for members aged 30 and over who currently hold a senior leadership role in Surf Life Saving with participants coming from a variety of clubs, r...oles and SLS backgrounds. The skills gained at Masterclass are designed to be taken back to clubs and into other areas of the participant’s daily life, with the aim of contributing to SLSA’s mission statement of saving lives, creating great Australians and building better communities. 17.01.2022 Portsea SLSC - Victorian Club of the Year 2020! Congrats to all of our members for your contributions and such a fantastic season.

17.01.2022 The wait is over!! The Club will open on Friday 27th of November, for weekends right through to Xmas and then from Boxing Day onwards. The details will go up on the website this week and the booking link will also be available on the website! There will also be Yoga & Pilates on weekends in December which will also be on the website.

14.01.2022 Portsea’s brand new range of swimwear is now available for all members on the club website. This includes Portsea’s iconic hexagon and traditional red designs, as well as the newly introduced Engine Jammers. These come in the choice of Shredskin competition black or regular club red. Both designs are perfect for surf or pool conditions and are light weight with superb comfort. Make sure you’re geared up for the summer season and pre order your swim wear before 15th October in time for Christmas.

Portsea Postseason Boomer ‘19-20 In line with our strategy to become more environmentally friendly, we have made the decision to only print The Boomer for those who request it. This has already made a huge difference on the amount of paper and ink that we use each year. If you missed the notices about opting in to have The Boomer printed and sent to you, you can still do so for future Boomers. We won’t be printing any more copies of the Boomer just gone, but... do we have some spare for pickup at the Club Office (when we re-open!). 13.01.2022 LSV are working hard to continue to provide the Lifesaving community with relevant development and networking sessions, to provide information, tools and strategies that can be utilised now and long into the future! In their latest Circular (010:07:20), they are covering a broad scope of topics that are relevant to our members and provide pathway insights that can practically assist you in preparing for the season ahead. The sessions will be delivered by a variety of facilit...ators and subject matter expects, within our membership, community and business. Each session will run for approx. 30 45 mins, where we aim to build skills, provide information, insights and the opportunity to ask questions and learn. 09.01.2022 Portsea has been nominated for this year’s Australian Club of the Year award at SLSA National Awards of Excellence Night this Saturday the 7th at 5:30pm. If you want to support and cheer on the club, the event will be live-streamed on the SLSA website and Facebook page. Go Portsea!!

06.01.2022 Amazing work by our superstar girls (Mackie Hunter, Hannah Saadie, Frankie Dever and Gemma Woolrich) for winning the Youth Team of the Year! We’d like to make a special mention that whilst the Youth Team of the Year nomination consisted of four members, there have been another four superstar girls who have been equally apart of the journey to date. These girls are: Jess Haintz, Emerson Young, Gabby Simmons and Belle Mitchell. These girls all started racing together in the Ju...nior under 10’s and have represented Portsea in various swim team combinations at carnivals over the last five years! The second photo of the eight girls was taken at the 2020 Anglesea carnival. What a great club effort and an exciting future ahead for these girls! @lifesavingvic
