11.02.2022 Welcome Jess to the Possum Place Team We are very excited to be welcoming Jess to our team who will be working alongside Kelly in the Joeys care environment!

09.02.2022 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year The Possum Place team would like to wish all of our community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2022. This year has thrown us many challenges however, through it all we have continued to love, cherish, educate and care for all the children within our service. We feel very privileged that you choose US as your education and care service and are looking forward to the exciting times of 2022.... The end of 2021 has been bittersweet as we have said goodbye to many long standing families transitioning to school after having majority of the children since infants and older siblings also attending Possum Place. We would like to wish all the Kangaroos children the best start to Kindergarten next year and cannot wait to see you in your big school uniforms. Possum Place will reopen at 6:30 AM on Tuesday 11th Jan 2022 where we will be excited to welcome our returning and new families to our centre. Please stay safe, take care and have an enjoyable holiday period, The Possum Place Team

29.01.2022 The Kangaroos and Educators Nikki, Elly and Abby along with Lisa and a few parents had a fabulous day at Summerland Farm today to celebrate their final days at Possum Place. We had fun splashing in the water, playing on the big slide and looking at the animals. Thank you Nestle In Goonellabah for coming along with us and providing us a delicious Morning Tea and Lunch. We had a great ‘Goodluck at Big School’ cake from Wicked Delights Bakery to finish off our day before adventuring on the bus back to Possums

25.01.2022 A big thank you to all of our wonderful families for donating to the Our Kids charity. Gianpiero was very excited when he came to collect the gifts yesterday. Many children who will be spending Christmas in Lismore Base Hospital will also be very excited to receive these. Thank you!

21.01.2022 If your children are not around children with additional needs at school or daycare, and have never been taught that not everyone is the same, then please take 10 minutes tonight to explain this to them. Because even though they may not be around these children at school, they will encounter them in their lives. In the light of recent events on the exclusion of a child who has Autism from participating in a school trip, and a child with Down Syndrome being kicked out of dance... class because she couldn't keep up, I feel the need to share this. There are boys and girls that nobody invites to birthday parties. There are children who want to belong to a team but don't get selected because it is more important to win than to include these children. Children with additional needs are not rare or strange; they only want what everyone else wantsto be accepted!! For all the wonderful children out there Please teach your children to be kind to these beautiful children!

20.01.2022 As part of our NAIDOC week celebrations earlier in the month, Jodie (Marcellus’ Mum) donated a series of symbols that represent our local Bundjalung language. The preschool children then created their own story using these symbols! Our very creative educator Karen Ursula Robinson painted this beautiful mural on our entrance wall displaying the story that the preschool children created and further deepening our connection to the Aboriginal community.

19.01.2022 The Kangaroos had a fabulous time yesterday afternoon celebrating their final days at Possum Place! Unfortunately due to the weather and COVID-19 restrictions we had to cancel our planned bbq but we still were able to have a party and enjoy a cupcake! We played some games, did an experiment and lots of dancing! Goodluck Kangaroos children on your adventure into Kindergarten next year. We will miss you

16.01.2022 Do you enjoy listening to music or a podcast on your morning walk or perhaps you quite often have background sounds on whilst you’re working? I would like to encourage you to listen to a podcast called ‘Emerging Minds’. It entails conversations with experts on a variety of topics related to children’s social and emotional wellbeing. Once a fortnight a new episode is released and there are already some brilliant topics available to listen too now.... You can find the ‘Emerging Minds’ podcast on your Podcast app on apple podcasts, google podcasts or Spotify. Please share your thoughts when you have listened to any of the episodes!

14.01.2022 This May at Possum Place we are dancing for Sick Kids! Throughout the week of 17-21 May we will log our minutes danced and raise awareness for the Ronald McDonald House. Please show your support by sponsoring us today. All funds raised will help seriously ill or injured children and their families by providing a home-away-from-home at Ronald McDonald House, ... whilst they receive critical care and treatment. On average, it costs Ronald McDonald House Charities $160 to support a family for one night, so please give what you can, every dollar counts.
