24.01.2022 Robbie Davis attended the NFFs 40 year celebrations in Canberra this week as part of her graduation to the alumni of the Diversity in Agriculture Leadership Program... Farmers lead a celebration of the shared values of all Australians. In the city or the country were all part of the same cycle.... To celebrate 40 years of the National Farmers Federation, we are delighted to reveal our new initiative We Are Australian Farmers - which is just the beginning of our conversation with our community to better connect all Australians with agriculture and people behind it. Australians report to being increasingly disconnected with how their food and fibre is produced. And while they are overwhelmingly supportive of our farmers, theyd like to know a bit more about how and why we do what we do. We Are Australian Farmers is the first step in a long-term commitment to closing the divide between our farmers and the community and telling the great story that is Australian farming. Our new short film premiered last night at NFFs 40th Anniversary Gala Dinner which was attended by Prime Minister Scott Morrison and members of the wider agriculture community. Special thanks to our Founding Partner Meat & Livestock Australia and the special farmers who feature in the film: Jamie, Andrew, Jonty and Isabella Ingle, Maree Anstee, Andrew Julian, Duncan Trethowan, Christopher Reid, Brad Hulme, Jordan Hunt, Georgia Cluff, Corey McCarthy, Tom Bull, James Finlay, Sam Pincott, Tim Glass, Andrew Fraser and Katie Wills. We Are Australian Farmers.

19.01.2022 Precision Mapping: does it tell us anything we dont already know? explored the application of precision mapping techniques in potato production systems in South Australia. It confirmed that soil and crop sensing technologies can be used to inform: the strategic application of fertilisers and soil amendments; decisions about drainage alignment; and, can provide insight to irrigation performance, crop stress and yield forecasts. 16.01.2022 On International Rural Womens Day, the National Farmers Federation is reaffirming its goal for the sector to double the number of women in leadership roles by 2030. Despite comprising 41% of the agricultural workforce, women make up only 18% of management roles in agriculture and only 2.3% of CEO roles, NFF President said. This means female voices remain to a large extent, absent in the leadership forums where the big decisions are made. The decisions that will shape th...e future of agriculture. Last year, the NFF launched its vision for agriculture to be a $100 billion industry by 2030. We immediately identified the need for women to be equally represented in the leadership positions of agriculture, Ms Simson said. The Roadmap, our plan for a $100 billion industry, sets a metric to double of the number of women in management roles by 2030. To assist in achieving this target, the NFF is this week celebrating the graduation of 10 female leaders from the Diversity in Agriculture Leadership Program. In its second successful year, the program guides 10 women through an intensive mentoring opportunity to hone their agricultural leadership goals. The program is supported by 20 of Australias leading agricultural organisations who have publicly committed to taking action on gender diversity within their organisations. Through, their committed partnership with the NFF on the Diversity in Agriculture Leadership Program, these progressive organisations are at the heart of agricultures endeavours to achieve gender parity within the leadership ranks of our industry, Ms Simson said. The 2019 Diversity in Agriculture Leadership Program s Committed Partners are: AgriFutures; Agforce; Australian Agricultural Company; Australian Community Media; BASF; Bayer; Coles; Consolidated Pastoral Company; Elders; GRDC; Landmark; Indigenous Land and Sea corporation; NBN; NSW Farmers; NuFarm; PrimeSuper; Rabobank; Rimfire Resources; Rural Bank; RuralCo; Syngenta and WFI. 12.01.2022 SADA Fresh is all grown up. Today we turned three and we would like to mark the occasion by paying tribute to all our supporters. Since news of the crisis facin...g Australian dairy farmers hit the headlines in May, our milk sales have doubled, from about 20,000 litres a week to 45,000 litres. Thats astounding and we cant thank you enough. Our president, Allendale East dairy farmer John Hunt, got a bit emotional this afternoon when he spoke at a gathering of the local rural press club, saying that apart from raising money for the SA Dairy Industry Fund, this tangible demonstration that people care about them has given farmers heart, helping them to get out of bed in the morning during what is a very tough time. We cant share the delicious chocolate cake Heidelberg Cakes made for our celebration, but here is a picture of it being cut by SA Rural Woman of the Year Robbie Davis, from Potatoes South Australia, with encouragement from John and SA Dairy Industry Fund board member Will Rayner.
