15.01.2022 The Orange-bellied Parrot Tasmanian Program is excited to announce that the first captive OBP nest scrapings and courtship feedings for the 2017-18 season have ...been observed by our captive management team at our Hobart facility. The captive management team have been closely monitoring OBP breeding pairs since September and expect that the first OBP clutches will be laid over the coming weeks. To further support our captive-breeding efforts, the team at Poultry Australia have kindly donated two JANOEL incubator-brooders to the Tasmanian OBP Program. The new JANOEL incubator-brooder units will be used to bolster artificial OBP rearing capacity at our Hobart OBP captive-breeding facility should it be required. It is through this kind of support from our many stakeholders and supporters (both internationally and local) that we are able to undertake essential conservation efforts to help save the Orange-bellied Parrot.
