We had over 190 students attend the day from 16 schools across South Australia. 21.01.2022 Staff members Alipate Carlile & Will Northeast were able to visit Garden College today! Firstly, they spent time chatting to the students and were blown away with their knowledge of ATSI History and culture. They were also privileged to hear some of their stories about their families journey to Australia and some connections they have found with Australian history. The students also spoke of the connection they felt with the Adam Goodes documentary The Final Quarter. During a difficult year for students, they were rewarded with a day full of 9-a-side footy as well as exploring potential career pathways. 14.01.2022 Today we facilitated another virtual Community Youth Program lesson with Lefevre Peninsula Primary School but for the first time ever we did it all online from Alberton with no staff member present at the school. The students really enjoyed interacting with Port Adelaide Football Club players Xavier Duursma and Jackson Mead a long with Australian long distance runner Caitlin Adams and an engineer from Naval Group Australia talking all things submarines.
