14.01.2022 School tours are back on! Just a few things to note for school tours and our mandated requirements in the gallery. Please pre book your school tour. ... Entry and exit will be from Mary Elie Street entrance of the cultural precinct School bags are discouraged Groups must be divided into smaller groups. This will mean dividing classes into smaller groups if they exceed 20, the recently updated capacity of our gallery spaces. This advice is subject to change based on advice from SA Government. We encourage non-flash photography to record and support discussion back at school. You can take photographs for personal use in all areas of the gallery unless signs say otherwise. Please remember: We ask while in the building that all schools practice good hygiene and social distancing from one another, staff and other members of the public Keep 1.5 metres from others whenever and wherever possible. Wear a mask when you can’t physically distance. Staff will be wearing masks. If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, even if mild, get tested and stay home while you await your results. Stay home if you’re unwell to avoid making others sick. COVID 19 contact tracing requirements; All visitors to the gallery are asked to sign in for contact tracing requirements. We look forward to hosting schools again ahead of the holidays.

05.01.2022 The Port Pirie Regional Art Gallery’s Youth Art Exhibition and SACE Exhibition, runs Monday 16 November to Friday 4 December 2020 The Youth Art Exhibition highlights the works of young people aged 525 years from across the Port Pirie Regional Council. It aims to encourage young emerging artists and arts students in our community to get actively involved in the local arts scene. The Annual Regional Youth Art Exhibition is open to all art media and to young artists in the comm...unity with a focus on the Year 11 and 12 art works. Explore the exhibition and range of works across mediums including illustration, paintings, photography, sculpture, textiles and mixed media. Cover image Jenna Hosking "Marek's Fallen Branch" Aged 8 Oil Pastels, Sept 2020 'Mum gave me a postcard of a painting by artist Marek Herburt. I like the colours he paints landscapes. I looked closely at the postcard of his fallen branches to find all the colours and then I drew my own version with my new oil pastels. I spent all day working on it. Marek said l did very well.
