25.01.2022 A valuable lesson learned as a Celebrant.. always have a few outfits that make you feel like a million bucks. If you feel good, you’ll look great. And if you feel great, you’ll look amazing. So put down the dress where the boning digs in too deep. And put away the outfit that everyone else loves but you’re only okay about. They’re not worth it. ... Life is too short to feel nervous about how you feel, so wear what you love and do things your way Photo, @goldandgrit My outfit, @needleandthreadlondon @jimmychoo
25.01.2022 Weddings can’t happen right now, so I’m going through a few flashback moments. And this has always been one of my all time favourite wedding photos. Taken by @ericronaldphoto for Charlie and Mike’s 2017 wedding. I think this was maybe my fourth wedding and it is still one of my favourites because not only are they a power couple, with Charlie wearing a pink @alexperryofficial dress, but the crowd loved the ceremony and laughed at every joke. And to top of off, they had confetti canons. Every wedding should have confetti canons as far as I’m concerned. Thank you Charlie and Mike for trusting me with your wedding. It’s this moment I knew I could be good at this
24.01.2022 I would like my day to be spent getting drunk in pretty dresses with no animal cruelty please and thank you x Image: @gingertaylorartist

21.01.2022 You’ll tell me when the puppy spam gets too much yeah? (Tidda is front left and JT is back left)
19.01.2022 According to my Facebook memories, the 9 Sept has been a history of being a pretty special day 2 years ago... my husband bought me my first vinyl from him, a pressing of @mosdefc’s Ms. Fat Booty. 4 years ago... I started my journey as a celebrant and opened social medias accounts for my small business and have grown it from 57 followers to 4,000+... 5 years ago... I flew from Florence to Pamplona and officially started my 710km hike across Spain walking #ElCaminoDeSantiago 8 years ago... I was in Berlin for Folsom St Party and getting ready to celebrate at #berghain, still my favourite ever club (or at least being in my top 2 with Space in Ibiza) with my two besties 10 years ago... I met my hero @alexandrashulman along with @manoloblahnik and @yasminlebon at @britishvogue’s Vogue Night Out at @libertylondon And today I’m keeping safe and well in a pandemic with a business that I’ll be able to resurrect post COVID, no credit card debt for only the second time in my adult life and spring is in the air. September 9th, you do alright be me

17.01.2022 Want your Marriage Certificate looking extra pretty? Let’s do it! I’m now offering you the option of having your commemorative Marriage Certificate written by an amazing Calligrapher, @calligraphybylesley ... With a background working for Vogue and Conde Nast, and now writing the invites for fashion houses such as Chanel and Hermes, Lesley’s background is as incredible as her calligraphy. You’ll still have the option of having my trusty printer do your certificate up, but if you want something a little bit extra then you’ve now got this option too. And just to show you, here’s some that she’s done earlier

15.01.2022 Well hey there lovers, fancy seeing you here. My name is Precious and I’m an Authorised Marriage Celebrant based in northern suburbs Melbourne. It would be super cliche of me to say right now that I love my job, but it’s true so I’ll say it anyway! I absolutely LOVE being a Celebrant and not being able to marry people over the last few months has been really hard (so if you’ve postponed your wedding recently I totally get the pain). ... My couples have described me as being vibrant, inclusive, unique, effervescent and cheeky. And tbh, that sounded pretty damn accurate If you are looking for someone to bring some fun to your one-of-a-kind wedding ceremony, then drop me a line x Photo, @goldandgrit

10.01.2022 I married Cara and Tom on top of a waterfall in the Gariwerd National Park, and oh my was it gorgeous. Luckily @ericronaldphoto and @katie_harmsworth were there to capture it all on camera, and @tangofilms_au was there to video it all. Here’s a sneak peek of the magic they captured and created. If you look carefully at the second photo you might just see Cara and Tom (I’m hiding away)... Photo, @ericronaldphoto and @katie_harmsworth Video, @tangofilms_au Makeup, @makeup.by.inez

06.01.2022 Am I seeing you there?
05.01.2022 I was always feminineI’d play with barbie dolls; scribble mehendi patterns and lehenga designs in my notebooks. In class 9, I realised I was attracted to men.... My classmates found me weirdthey’d pull my hair; call me ‘sixer’. So, I spent most of my time painting; I let out all my anger by being a rebel at home. If my parents wanted me to dress up a certain way, I wouldn't oblige, and instead deck myself up in pink. Relatives would scold my parents for allowing me to dress like a ‘girl’. So, when I told them that I wanted to pursue a career in fashion, Papa said, ‘Only ladies do stitching,’ but I was hell bent. I passed my fashion school entrance tests with flying colours and got into my dream college. But I knew Papa would never let me go, so I ran away to Bangalore with my Nanaji’s help. After a few weeks, I mustered up the courage to tell Papa; he was angry. He said, ‘I’ll pay your fees only if you score well.’ I went on to top my collegethere was no turning back from there. After graduation, I worked for several brands, and in 2017, I started my own label. I’d also sketch my innermost feelings and share it online a sketch of mine which showed Sikh men kissing went viral. But it didn’t go down well with the Sikh community; what started as mild trolling escalated to death threats like‘Kahi mil gaya toh kaat denge’. Once, while I was on my scooty, 2 Sikh men followed me one of them came close enough to slap me, but I sped and fled away. Soon after, 100 angry Sikh men ransacked my studio and called me and my parents to the Gurdwara. They interrogated me for over 5 hours they said, ‘Homosexuality doesn’t exist in our religion.’ It was 100 vs 1, so I had no choice but to give inI was made to apologize on TV and delete my posts. After that, I was terrifiedI went underground for 2 months; I couldn't put my family at risk. For a year, I stayed away from creating new content; still, it changed nothing. Last year, when I went to a club on my birthday, the manager yelled, ‘We can’t let chutiya-looking sardars like you into our property.’ That hit me hard I realised that things won’t change unless I stood up for myself. So, I put up a post about what the manager had done; it went viral, and the club managers apologized to me. It was my first step towards change. In that moment, I knew that no matter what the world tells me, I have to do what’s right. So I resumed posting my illustrationsthe trolling hasn’t stopped but at least now, I feel like I can breathe in peace. I even organized a virtual pride art exhibition and motivated queer artists across the country. There was a time when I’d dress up in ‘normal’ clothes, use public restrooms to change into clothes of my choice and then, head to clubs. But now, I don’t give a damnI just wear my colourful turban, fill all my fingers with funky rings and go all out. People stare at me endlessly. And why shouldn’t they? I’m fabulous! See more
05.01.2022 Will I be seeing you there? This is a must attend for anyone planning a fun wedding
04.01.2022 Happy Christmas everyone! I’m taking a social media break and will be back with y’all in the new year. I might be doing some casual doomscrolling or stories, but if you’d like to get in touch about your wedding (and I’d really love you to!) please drop me an email and I’ll get back to you ASAP. Until then, stay safe, have fun, and eat that extra piece of cake for no other reason than you want to
04.01.2022 Lilly and Becs wedding has been feature online at Hello May, and I have to say - the photos absolutely capture the etherealness of the day. @ilsa has somehow been able to showcase their love and the gardens, that were originally built by Edna Walling in the 1920s. As Lilly says, Edna was a conservationist, writer and a feminist who didn’t conform keeping her hair cut short, wearing trousers, smoking a pipe, and living with her female partner in the house that she built her...self. And thank you so much to both Lolly and Bec for including me in their standout vendors. Our celebrant Precious Celebrations really lived up to her name and was the glittery thread that brought us all together with her warm laughter, vibrant energy and perfectly timed (in)appropriate jokes. We absolutely adore her. I adore you both too Photographer, @ilsawhk_weddings Florist, @thebackyardenthusiast & @redearthflowers Catering @locavore_studio Cake, @figandsalt See more
