25.01.2022 Congratulations to our Week 2 winners: @jyen88 and @ph1rst! @jyen88 got the whole family out for a ride to visit the iconic blue boathouse on Mounts Bay Road - even young Lachlan came along in a bike trailer! We loved the inclusion of the distinctly WA blue boatshed, viewable from the on Mounts Bay Road shared path. We hope you enjoy your prize - maybe Lachlan can look forward to the new helmet you mentioned he will need soon In another great location photo, @ph1rst and th...e @escargot.ride squad took a trip around the River, stopping at the Matagarup Bridge to grab a #ridetogetherwa shot. We hope their challenge to William is noticed and he joins their awesome pastry ride in October! Both of this weeks winners will receive a $100 voucher for themselves PLUS a further $100 voucher to share with a friend or family member they tagged in their post. Want to join the list of winners this week? Make sure to upload your photo, use the hashtag #ridetogetherwa and call out a friend you want to ride with in October for a chance to win!

25.01.2022 While fitness, recreation or to get outdoors was the main purpose for people to jump on bike during the height of the COVID restrictions, more than 77,000 more West Australians are keeping up the habit and are now riding a bike more frequently. This surge in bike riding is now providing WA a great opportunity to encourage more people to ride a bike to work, to school, or to the shops as a mode of transport. As more people are riding a bike for recreation, they are building ...their confidence, their fitness and their awareness of all of the new infrastructure that has been constructed in recent years and are realising that riding a bike is also a convenient and healthy mode of transport WestCycle CEO Matt Fulton said. 06.01.2022 The number of children getting to school via active transport has plummeted over recent decades. This is leading to immediate and long-term issues that are not only impacting the economy and transport network, but most importantly our children’s health, with childhood obesity a leading cause. In Perth, the rate is as low as 20 per cent, with one-half of children travelling to school by car - despite living less than one kilometre away. However, schools from around the State ...are bucking this trend by promoting bike riding to students and teachers. This WA Bike Month, several schools are hosting WA Bike Month events to encourage students and teachers to ride a bike to school. 02.01.2022 Now that it's November and WA Bike Month has come to a close, it's time to announce our last weekly winner of the #ridetogetherWA photo competition. Our first winner for the final week was @the_cox_six, who said "Bikes for our whole family have been the best purchase of 2020." Over at WA Bike Month, we love to see more people riding for fun, fitness or to work, and we are so glad to hear that Tanya and her family are loving the ride in 2020!
