Moving to Stage 4 will have a significant impact on people living and w...orking in the Greater Melbourne region. Here is the latest we have found on the current restrictions: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au//Stage%204%20Industries%20-%20 The clear message is that unless your business falls into one of the listed exempt categories than your business must not be operating. If your business does fall into a listed exempt category there are strict obligations you must adhere to. The document in the link above sets out in the last line, OTHER CATERGORIES, under RESTRICTED OPERATIONS OR INDUSTRY SPECIFIC OBLIGATIONS Residential and commercial services that were booked before 5pm 3 August and are scheduled to be carried out before 5pm 17 August, that are essential to the wellbeing or livelihood, will be permitted. All activity will be subject to a High Risk COVID Safe Plan. We are seeking more detailed advice on an interpretation of what works ‘are essential to the wellbeing or livelihood’. More details as they come to hand. Whilst we continue to seek advice it is clear that the following applies, until otherwise advised. Work sites that are in the closed category, can continue to provide access for the purposes of critical maintenance and safety works including meeting environmental obligations, subject to meeting the minimum requirements Emergency tree work would fall into the ‘critical maintenance and safety works’. We do not have any clear guidance on what ‘‘critical maintenance and safety tree works looks like for the organisations responsible for enforcing these critical safety measures. This is not the place to provide detailed guidance on what works fall into ‘‘critical maintenance and safety works. If it is work that you would generally feel comfortable booking into your roster four or five weeks from the time you quote it, it’s hardly in the ‘‘critical maintenance and safety works category. We are looking to find more detailed information as it is released by the State Government. It is critical at this time that the most stringent documented plans, procedures and COVID controls are in place.
