25.01.2022 I came across this recently and thought Id like to share it... people are so quick to "fail" their doggie and return them after a very short time without giving then the proper chance to settle in to their new lives! Remember that houndies have often lived very different lives before joining your family, like any of us with any huge change, they do need time to adjust! Once they do, theyre loyal to a fault and have the most gorgeous personalities!... #adoptagreyhound #greyhoundlyf #somuchlove

24.01.2022 Meet cheeky boy Tiger... He's new into the program and learning to be calm after his racing career is over at just over 2yo... a smoochy boy who loves cuddles and lazing the day away. He's already worked out toilet training and sleeps great overnight! Tiger will be learning lead manners, being around other dogs, how to be calm and not so jumpy when he sees new people! Tiger will make the most loyal lounge hound and I can't wait to see him progress to pet life! Tiger will be available to adopt through Gumtree Greys soon!

23.01.2022 I thought I should introduce myself! Hey Im Emily! Ive been involved in the Greyhound industry for about a year now and have a real love for these beautiful doggos!! I wanted to offer this service as I saw a need for greys to get a bit of extra attention before heading onto their GAP assessment. ... A few trainers told me they just didnt have time for this part of racing and if there was someone who could do it for them it would be great!! I personally feel that the extra attention and training on how to be pets sets them up for a successful GAP assessment and a great start for their new life on the couch! Im currently working on a racing property with a fantastic trainer and have learned more than just handling greyhounds at the track. Theres so much more to them, their traits, behavior and even body language........ 20.01.2022 Welcome to Prepared to Retire - Greyhound Training. As a greyhound trainer & enthusiast I love seeing greys retired to a comfy couch after they have finished their racing carers! I help to prepare greyhounds for GAP assessment or private rehoming, increasing their success rate by desensitization, socialisation and small dog, child, cat testing. ... At this stage there are no more than 2 hounds in the program ensuring I am able to dedicate the time needed to pet-train your beautiful hound! Please feel free to contact us regarding your circumstances, weekly fees and booking your grey in with us! *waiting lists may apply, dogs must have a GAP booking, owner/trainer is responsible for vet costs incurred and C5 vax prior to entry into GAP, extra training is available beyond 4 week minimum placement*

18.01.2022 This is our first foster fail that came through the program! (I can't bear to part with her or send her for adoption, so she's staying here forever) Jessie is a gorgeous silver fawn girl and is a total cuddle buddy. She loves to roach, lady her days around and doesn't realise she's not a lap dog. She has the sweetest personality and has become my shadow wherever I go bonus, that she loves car trips, other doggies and food! We are attending obedience classes together and basically she's living her best life!

18.01.2022 Hey guys Ive recently started this greyhound retirement training program to get your greyhound ready for rehoming - either private homes or pre-GAP/rescue group. I spend 4 weeks (minimum) with each hound and acclimate them to pet life. I also desensatize/expose the Greyhound to kids, small dogs, walkies, other dogs, kittys, traffic, household sounds and most important toilet training! (I believe this increases their success when entering GAP and/or their new homes)... 15.01.2022 Yesterday was both happy and sad... Happy because Missy one of our program houndies went off to GAP and sad because she passed her assessment and has left us to find her forever home! Unfortunately I form attachment to these beautiful doggies when they stay with us, although I know shes headed for a family wholl love her as much as we do, its still a little hard to let go!

13.01.2022 Derp tongues would have to be one of the cutest gteyhound expression there is!! This is Missy - 3yo black and white houndie, the second in our program... shell be off to GAP in the next week freeing up a vacancy! Missy has acclimated to pet life with ease and is going to be the perfect family pet!

09.01.2022 When the new foster is totally fascinated by the tv... Had to change shows a he was trying to chase the doggies on TV... he was confused he couldnt find them! Just one of the many things newly retired houndies have to learn!

09.01.2022 New grey into the program this afternoon... Welcome Paulie... settled in well so far with the girls, looking forward to getting to know this smoochy boy! Paulie has come to us for some retraining after a failed adoption! Hes such a sweetie, collecting all the toys in the house and giving them a squeek, settling himself on the doggie bed, following Alex all over the house and being so great at going to the toilet outside already!

06.01.2022 This stunning boy is available for adoption... Tiger is a 2yo, red brindle, smoochy boy who has been retired due to injury. He is well rested, recovered and looking for an only dog home (possibly would be happy with a greyhound bitch) definatly no cats or pocket pets for this boy!... If you know of someone looking for a smoochy boy to hog their couch let me know! Will be seeking the best of homes for him!
