23.01.2022 Vale Tom Dobson We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of club member Tom Dobson earlier this week . Tom had a long history with the club, racing with the club in the 50’s and more recently as an executive committee member. Tom will always be remembered for his passion for club racing and his commitment to the club. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and Pam

22.01.2022 Just wanted to see how you’re going after what’s been a really tough year for Victoria and community sporting clubs like us. The club is pleased to report that we’re back training at the velodrome twice a week; Wednesday nights from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm and Saturday mornings from 10.00 am to 11.30 am. These are general track training sessions catering to all levels of fitness and it would be great if you could get along to join in the fun and catch up with clubmates (even if y...ou’re a ‘roadie’ please think about popping in as part of a training or recovery ride). Apart from the exercise the other benefit of the regular get togethers are that riders and supporters get to hear about what’s going on at the club first hand and ask any questions that they might have. We try to keep our facebook page up to date with news but know that not everyone uses ‘socials’; please feel free to get back to me with anything that’s on your mind. Look forward to seeing or hearing from you soon See more

But spare a thought for Nathan B; couldn’t contest the m...edals due to a mechanical mishap in qualifying, but posted a storming 3.58 time that we hope will still be eligible to stand as a national record time. Well done boys! See more

18.01.2022 Tomorrow is Preston's turn to host the ISO Omnium. Entry numbers are good (plenty of room still in Session 2). For those familiar with Preston events unfortun...ately we won't be offering the full (scones, jam and cream etc.) style canteen but rather a scaled back COVID compliant version. We promise you won't go hungry or thirsty though so please remember to bring along a few gold coins or small notes See more

18.01.2022 We’re most definitely back on track. While the northern bend was slightly damp at the start of Saturday’s training session, this certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of the riders for our 4th training session back since the resumption. 15 riders went through a variety of drills safely, while 2 riders let us know beforehand that they weren’t feeling well and did exactly the right thing and stayed home; hope to see them back on track next week. Please remember that we’re currently restricted to 20 riders per session and that you need to book in in advance via the PCC messenger page

17.01.2022 A reminder to all club members that our AGM is this evening, 7.30 p.m, via Video conference: https://tinyurl.com/y2mu4hb2

14.01.2022 Way Back Wednesday (well 2016 anyway ). Unfortunately this year's race can't be held as scheduled but back then the Alf Kimpton Memorial (Road) Handicap @ Broa...dford was a Preston members only race with a 'boutique' field of 14 riders (all 14 riders finished). Results: 1. Garth Hircoe, 2. Jamie Hazelden, 3. Vanessa Goss, 4. Ed Muggleton, 5. Matt Atherton, 6. Stuart Bendall, 7. John Hasouras, 8. Billy Armstrong, 9. Will King, 10. Brendan Goss, 11. Mel Humphreys-Grey, 12. Graham Johnston, 13. Michelle Cook, 14. Alix Watson. As usual there were plenty of fantastic Preston volunteers on hand to allow the riders to do their thing safely See more

14.01.2022 Yesterday was Day 3 and our final day at the Track Nats. What a day! The whole team did PBs in the Flying 200M, Molly going fastest in 14.8 secs. We'll be in th...e 13s (or better) next year! Our crack mixed gender Team Sprint squad rode a great race and scored themselves an interview with the AusCycling media man, wearing their Aus Champs jumpers. Nathan B blitzed the field to win the scratch race while Molly used her top end speed to pip Georgia in the womens' race. Andre and Finn scored medals for the Omnium competition behind our Qld mate, Nathan G. Nathan B couldn't make the medals in this overall comp due to his pursuit mishap. Such a great campaign! Medals were nice, but not unexpected given the current numbers in the classification. Best of all though, everyone in the squad posted PBs; everyone is improving. We're just getting better and better! Huge thanks to AusCycling for creating the new AWII classification under the paracycling umbrella and above all, Louise Jones, Tony Torr and everyone at AusCycling Queensland for their support and encouragement. Next stop, Road Nationals in February. Can't wait! See more

13.01.2022 Tomorrow racing starts at 1pm sharp, so please don't be late. With over 90 cyclists hitting the track tomorrow, it will be a big day!! The track will be free... to warm up on from 12.00pm till 1.00pm. If you are bringing a family member, we may request assistance for time keeping or lap number turning. We will be starting with the flying 200's, followed by a 2 x lap time trial, and a 6 lap pursuit. We have recieved a permit to run our canteen and BBQ from the Council, so there will be icy cold drinks available to all. Look forward to a great day of racing tomorrow!! See more

11.01.2022 The famous Australia Day Madison is back again early next year, and will be sponsored by VELOEX!!!! The Public Holiday Carnival on Tuesday January 26th will k...ick off at 10.00am. Massive thanks to Doug Reynolds from VELOEX and BikeGearNow for sponsoring the event, and donating the first $1000.00. Wizard Plumbing will also throw in another $500.00, so there will be some great prize money up for grabs, in every event. All races will be individually sponsored, so if your business would like to be part of the event, please don't hesitate to call me on 0425810798 (Barry). All sponsors will be heavily promoted on all of our social media outlets!! All donations of any size will be welcomed! The event will also host the Bessie Poole Wheelrace, so it will be an awesome day! There will be an U11/U13, U15/U17, and U19 and above, Wheelrace. All with awesome prizes. Entry for the event will be via ENTRYBOSS early in the New Year!
