21.01.2022 BEATING THE BOREDOM I used to LOVE drawing! Well, I still do, I just don’t really find the time these days (unless it’s on my twins banana’s for Kindy, but that’s another story)...Now thanks to ‘Rona’ taking over our lives, today I found the time! I decided it was the perfect chance to get back into doing more of the things I love, so while I can’t get the kids out of the house & so I don’t go bat shit crazy, I’m going to draw! I’m a bit rusty but lucky for me I’ve got a good few weeks up my sleeve to get back into the swing of it. I know what you’re thinking ‘I’m far too young to have been out of school for that long’ but as the saying goes, time flies when you’re having fun! Sixteen years on & here’s a few things I’ve learned along the way: 1. My OCD is getting worse with age. 2. Comic Sans will forever hurt my eyes. 3. Word & Publisher files should not exist.... Our judges (my 4 year old twins) had their work cut out for them but after much deliberation I am very excited to announce our Winner of the Evie Bunny is Paige McRostie! We have enjoyed lots of family time & have plenty to look forward to in Twenty Twenty One! We have a super busy month ahead with a friends family holiday coming up, the twins starting school AND to kick things off a busy week of birthdays in our house next week! 02.01.2022 PRETTY IN INK PRODUCTION Ever wondered how Pretty in Ink works behind the scenes? Well, I can tell you now it’s definitely nothing fancy, it often looks like a bit of a shambles but it works for me...and that’s the main thing right? Here is a little insight into how the packaging works, it’s all done by hand, by me, either on our dining room table or sometimes if I’m feeling really adventurous on the couch! The couch is also my main ‘office space’ when it comes to designi...ng! The beauty of Pretty in Ink is that I can design + package everything in the comfort of my own home AND I print + add all the finishing touches at our local printers Hansen Design & Print where I have worked as a Graphic Designer for the past 15 years! So there you have it, simple but effective! Now, I’m off to do some more packaging, I might even have a cheeky beer while I’m at it...Happy Friday friends!
