20.01.2022 RED RIBBON APPEAL 2020 ACON is calling on people and organisations throughout NSW to join in efforts to eliminate HIV stigma, end HIV transmission and support people living with HIV by participating in the annual Red Ribbon Appeal. The Red Ribbon Appeal is ACON’s biggest annual fundraising campaign. It is held throughout November and culminates on Red Ribbon Week, which runs from 24 November to World AIDS Day on 1 December. Funds raised from the Red Ribbon Appeal goes toward... community-led initiatives in HIV prevention, education, advocacy, care and support. This year, with the challenge of restrictions on events and assemblies, people are being encouraged to participate in the Red Ribbon Appeal through virtual catch-ups or COVID safe gatherings. You can take part in numerous way including hosting a red-themed virtual event (Zoom meeting, online trivia, virtual panel), organising a socially distant gathering (morning tea, bake off, dinner) or setting a personal challenge (fitness goal, makeover or quitting a vice). People can also donate by purchasing a virtual Red Ribbon or ordering Red Ribbon merchandise for World AIDS Day.
