22.01.2022 @pteefit on Mindful Eating When it comes to tracking food I know how tedious it can be for some people to have to constantly measure and weigh out their food. Its not a method that is one size fits all, and it can even create a bad relationship with food. Or for many it simply doesn’t fit into their lifestyle. ... Implementing mindful eating can really help those struggling to control their food intake. It also ensures that you are able to get sufficient macro nutrient intake. So, how do you control your caloric intake? Need help with calories? 20.01.2022 Athlete @jeffuwuhan with 316kg in the hand. Unfortunate unsuccessful National Record attempt on the day. Jeff put up a great performance despite missing his final deadlift. Adding 42.5kg to his previous comp total he finished the day with gold and 257.5kg squat, 152.5kg bench and a milestone 300kg dead's in comp.... We won't make the same mistake twice. 316kg and then some will be there come @apunsw States Championship. #primeperformance #apunsw #australianpowerliftingunion
16.01.2022 One of our very own coaches, @bulkperformance_ put up a solid performance on the day. Walking away with the the gold medal, PBs in all lifts and leading his own PL team by example. Wrapping up the day with a 8/9 performance and 232.5/147.5/260 for a 640kg total, +25kg from his previous best. Coached by none other than a great friend and head honcho of @adonisathleticscampbelltown, @coach.alpha.... Massive day. Congrats Thomas! #primeperformance #adonisathleticscampbelltown #apunsw #australianpowerliftingunion
15.01.2022 Tees mini series on macros. Some hard facts and things you should know. Be sure to give her a follow! Reposted from @pteefit So I’ve talked about carbs and fats now its time for PROTEIN! ... Check out these protein facts. Protein is an essential macronutrient. It plays an important role when it comes to fat loss. Protein is made up of amino acids linked together, it mediates countless important processes in the body. It is an essential nutrient as 9 out of the 20 amino acids in protein are unable to be produced by the body. Ingestion of sufficient dietary protein stimulates muscle protein synthesis, improves recovery, can increase LBM when paired with resistance training, and help improve strength. Sparing LBM during diet has been associated with decreased weight regain So what sources do you get your protein from? - #primeperformance #plusfitnessmoorebank See more
14.01.2022 Athlete @anthonynart, coached by @bulkperformance_ had an awesome debut comp. Stayed composed throughout the day even though an injury reared its ugly head and still walked away with 3rd place in the -74kg class and PBs all round. Anthony wrapped up with 192.5/120/230 for a 542.5kg total and holy hell this man knows how to grind.... Love the never say die attitude you brought to the day man. Onwards and upwards from here, can't wait to see the improvements to come in the next comp and beyond. #primeperformance #apunsw
10.01.2022 Athlete @k.vcky, coached by @bulkperformance_ dominates her weight class with the numbers she put up in only her second comp ever. Weighing in -47kg she went onto take out the National record in each lift as well as the total with: Squat 120kg... Bench 77.5kg Deadlift 140kg Total 337.5kg 1st place on the day and I'm sure this puts her on top of the table in her weight class. Keep an eye out for her in 2021 because we're just getting started. #primeperformance #apunsw
06.01.2022 Reposted from @garyprimept WHY YOU SHOULDNT BE UPSET WITH THE SCALE WEIGHTS Understandably, the relationship with our scales can be very unhealthy as seeing it go the opposite way is discouraging. But we need to understand that this is a necessary evil as it cannot consistently go one way because it’s really unrealistic to expect it to do so and due to external lifestyle factors. These factors include:... Hydration (body is made up of 70% water so dehydration/being overly hydrated will affect weight) Bowel movements (lighter when you poop or heavier when you don’t) Stress levels (cortisol can result in water retention) Sleep duration (digestion timing) Meal timing (late dinners translate into heavier weigh ins potentially) Carb/sodium intake (water retention) Menstrual cycle (PMS bloating) Realistically, how many of these factors can you control? Let’s be honest, with our western society lifestyle... not many. Which is why we need to focus on the means of the trend rather than daily fluctuations. What the weekly average does is that it takes the factors into account and minimizes variability! So comparing the weekly trend is much better. Alternatives to track progress besides scale weight could also include: Girth measurements Progress photos Skin caliper tests Body scans Albeit these methods are still not 100%, all methods are just shown to provide you with a reference point to make an informative decision on. If you found this video useful don’t forget to tag, like, comment and share with a friend! #primeperformance See more
06.01.2022 PL coach, @bulkperformance_ running through tips on deadlifts. If you're a powerlifter be sure to give Thomas a follow. Reposted from @bulkperformance_ Disclaimer: Your shins may be bruised. Shins to bar is one of my favourite conventional deadlift cues for quad activation and keeping the bar close to your leg.... This will take some pressure of your glutes and lowerback. Think more about pushing the bar up rather than pulling and I guarantee you will be needing to add more weight to the bar If this was helpful for you make sure to Like Save Share And Shoutout to @garyprimept for the collab. 04.01.2022 Global pandemic aside, 2020 has been a sensational year for our team here at Prime Performance. If you had asked me at the beginning of 2019 when we came to be, where we would be in two years time, my answer wouldn't have been anything remotely close to where we are right now, and for that, I am grateful. To our clients, my team, to each of our franchisee partners, our industry partners, business support crew and anybody who has supported us throughout the year in one way or ...another, thank you. You guys are the reason we do what we do and if not for each of you, we wouldn't be where we are. 2020 has taught us to be resilient, that we're capable of adapting to change at a flick of a switch and above all, that we are capable of much more than we give ourselves credit for. Manier lessons have been learnt this year and I welcome many more in the new year. 2021, we're ready! From our team here at Prime Performance, Merry Christmas everyone and thank you for a great year! #primeperformance #christmasparty #enigma
