22.01.2022 Thank you and welcome to our new volunteer chaplains - Bill, Myriam, Patricia, Michael, Jennifer, Wendy and Drew - who have joined our team this year to provide invaluable support to people in prisons across Queensland. Find out how you can volunteer as a prison chaplain at: www.insideoutchaplaincy.org.au/volunteer

19.01.2022 Our hard-working and dedicated volunteer prison chaplains from around Queensland recently came together in Brisbane for in-service training - including seven new members of the Inside Out Prison Chaplaincy team who joined us this year.

17.01.2022 Pray God will break the language barrier for people from other countries who are in Queensland prisons and who struggle with English during Bible study.

15.01.2022 Rata was renowned for her quick temper and angry outbursts. The other inmates were afraid of her and stayed away - but she felt welcomed by prison chaplains. After being in and out of prison five times, Rata now lives in a little country town where this year she won an Australia Day Award for her work in the community.

14.01.2022 I try to remember that behind every woman who is in prison, there’s a story and there’s a reason why she is there." Eternity News published this wonderful story on one of our dedicated volunteer prison chaplains, Lyn, who has been supporting women in a Queensland correctional centre for four years.

14.01.2022 Pray for people in prison to be curious enough to approach our chaplains to ask questions about faith and read God’s word. Pray that the Lord will lead them through dreams and visions to give them hope for the future.

13.01.2022 On his second day ‘inside,’ Ray was approached by prison chaplains. He was surprised to find that they were regular blokes and talked about regular things. Prison chaplains were critical to Ray’s faith journey, sharing the message of salvation.

11.01.2022 Pray for strength and courage for women leaving prison and returning to life on the ‘outside’. Especially for ladies seeking a new church family to assist with spiritual support and friendship.

09.01.2022 Susan, one of our wonderful prison chaplains, has been offering women in prison "faith and a second chance" for three years. She was recently interviewed by ABC Southern Queensland.

08.01.2022 David Briddock, one of our many dedicated volunteer prison chaplains, spoke to Brisbane radio station 96five about the privilege of being able to support people in prison - and deliver "the message of hope, forgiveness and restoration".

08.01.2022 The new edition of 'The Inside Story', sharing the inspiring stories of former prisoners whose lives have been touched by our prison chaplains, is coming soon. Sign up to receive your copy in the mail at: https://www.insideoutchaplaincy.org.au/contact-us/

06.01.2022 Inside Out Prison Chaplaincy provides emotional and spiritual support to people in prison and helps them to begin their journey of transformation. Sometimes the chaplains’ work is part of their own personal transformation.

06.01.2022 Pray for comfort and reassurance for men and women in prison who are feeling more isolated than usual due to visiting restrictions for loved ones.

04.01.2022 Pray for prisoners’ protection against depression and for despair to be replaced with joy in their difficult circumstances. May all this bring glory to the Father.

03.01.2022 We believe daily prayer is driving us your continued prayer is a most important way you can be involved to support people in prison. Sign up to become a Prayer Partner to have prayer points mailed to you or sent to your email inbox each month.

03.01.2022 Prison chaplains were a breath of fresh air in a dark place for Sammy. Having someone to pray with him, minister to him and show genuine care was like an oasis in the desert. My life was one big rubbish tip. God came in, cleaned the whole thing out and is turning it into something beautiful beyond anything I could’ve have ever dreamed.

02.01.2022 It's not just prison chaplains who are supporting men and women in correctional centres. A study of programs in three Queensland prisons over a three-year period found the use of dogs helped improve the emotional intelligence of prisoners.

02.01.2022 Ex-prisoners' stories provide hope and encouragement to others. Their stories about the transformational power of Jesus Christ in their lives are more powerful than any sermon. Annette Spurr writes the stories of former prisoners for 'The Inside Story', Inside Out Prison Chaplaincy's newsletter, to help increase awareness about the invaluable role of prison chaplains.

02.01.2022 Thanks to ABC Southern Queensland radio for sharing the story of Inside Out Prison Chaplaincy chaplain Susan who has been offering women in prison "faith and a second chance" for three years. Listen to the interview from 2:07.33 at: http://ow.ly/v3Tk50AzAfS
