24.01.2022 CORRECTIONAL SERVICES DAY: Pray for peace and protection for prison officials and their families.

23.01.2022 Volunteers like Joyce are bringing the Gospel to those who need it most... I was so privileged to witness God’s Spirit open the eyes of a young lady during The Prisoner’s Journey course. She had answered no to the question ‘Did Jesus really have to die?’ Then as we drew out the meaning of the verses in the Bible explaining God’s plan for redeeming us, there was this awesome loud gasp and she said, ‘I get it now, yes of course he had to die to save us.’ These programs r...each prisoners when they are so in need of hearing the Gospel and being lifted up in their troubled lives. - Joyce, WA Volunteer ** Donate Today: https://prison-fellowship.secure.force.com/Donate Your $30 gift today means we can train a volunteer to reach out to prisoners and their families with the Gospel! **

22.01.2022 SHAKEN YET UNSHAKEABLE | And so with the words I just always wanted to work for the Lord, begins the journey of a volunteer, called to serve and support prisoners through the Prison Fellowship Australia ministry. | Read more about Prison Fellowship volunteers: https://prisonfellowship.org.au//11/shaken-yet-unshakeable/ - Become a ChainBreaker for as little as 50c a day, and help mobilise a volunteer to reach 3 prisoners with the Gospel: https://prisonfellowship.org.au/programs/chainbreakers/

21.01.2022 Volunteers like Lynton are helping to minister God’s grace to inmates... As a facilitator of the ‘Change on the Inside’ course, in many cases we hear and see the cry of their hearts. It’s the price of poor decisions, often made in a ‘mad minute’, paid out in the loss of valued relationships with the ones they love, especially those with children. There are also lost opportunities, messed up careers, financial costs and damaged reputations. For too many in society, these... people in prison are considered an irredeemable failure. In contrast, Prison Fellowship is a ministry that operates from a perspective of ‘by the grace of God I am forgiven and can therefore forgive’. We all need a second (or more) chance. ** Donate Today: https://prison-fellowship.secure.force.com/Donate Your $30 gift today means we can train a volunteer to reach out to prisoners and their families with the Gospel! **

18.01.2022 Volunteers like Ann are bringing the good news of God’s forgiveness to inmates & their families... One story that stayed with me was a woman who lived a very difficult life. We offered to help her when she got out and when we followed through, she said to me, ‘I have never been given anything in my life without some expectation of a return.’ We are all equal in the eyes of God. We have all sinned and can all seek forgiveness and salvation from the Lord. Certainly some ...prisoners have done terrible things, however in God’s eyes, all are loved and the joy of salvation is open to every single one. - Ann, VIC Volunteer ** Donate Today: https://prison-fellowship.secure.force.com/Donate Your $30 gift today means we can train a volunteer to reach out to prisoners and their families with the Gospel! **

18.01.2022 Volunteers like Bob are giving inmates a Christian friend who will walk their journey with them... Rick has been in prison for more than 20 years. He’s struggled with addiction and addiction-related crimes. He became a Christian in prison... During his last release period, I supported him in getting and keeping a full-time job the first he’s ever had. I also managed to link him up to a church. Here is a quote from one of his letters to me while in prison:... ’Thank you for mentoring the understanding of Scripture, foremost Jesus’ words. Now comes the challenging part, to follow those words... To be truthful, reading the Bible has taken my life from way down and out to still in prison but happy.’ ** Donate Today: https://prison-fellowship.secure.force.com/Donate Your $30 gift today means we can train a volunteer to reach out to prisoners and their families with the Gospel! **

12.01.2022 "Your Angel Tree gift says to children of prisoners: ‘My mum or my dad still know who I am. What I like and what I’m interested in.’ That’s the underlying hope that comes with Christmas Day. For that very brief moment when a child opens their gift... there is the sense of just sheer delight and sheer joy. This brings Mum or Dad briefly out of the prison into the home... that's the difference. - Yvonne, part of the Prison Fellowship team organising Angel Tree. - Your $30 Angel Tree gift helps provide a Christmas present to a child on behalf of their parent in prison. - DONATE TODAY: https://prison-fellowship.secure.force.com/Donate

11.01.2022 When children haven’t seen Dad or Mum in months due to COVID restrictions - your gift for an Angel Tree present can be the virtual hug they need from their parent in prison this year... - An Angel Tree gift says to children of prisoners, ‘My mum or my dad still know who I am. What I like and what I’m interested in.’ That’s the underlying hope that comes with Christmas Day. "Many inmates carry shame and guilt about their children. An Angel Tree gift is a tangible way for... them to say, ‘I'm sorry. Sorry I'm not there on Christmas Day. I'm sorry this is how things have turned out’." For that very brief moment when a child opens their gift... there is the sense of just sheer delight and sheer joy. This brings Mum or Dad briefly out of the prison into the home... that's the difference. - Yvonne, Prison Fellowship Australia - DONATE TODAY | https://prison-fellowship.secure.force.com/Donate | Your gift of $30 will help provide an Angel Tree gift to bless a child who may not have seen Mum or Dad all year!

06.01.2022 South Australians here we are again, for the second time this year our homes are our castles as well as our prisons. We know through God's word, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God" and through life's experiences that empathy allows us to experience some of the pain that another experiences so that we can give comfort and understanding. Unless you have been in prison there is a limit to our understanding what it is like to be "locked up" in prison, and although 6 days is just a small taste, it's a taste and therefore we can be more effective in ministry in these dark places.

04.01.2022 BIKIE TO BAPTISM | "I got mixed up in a bikie club, Matt says. It was pretty hectic, crime every day, drugs every day. I’d go to church every now and then, and battle all that stuff. I knew where I needed to be, but I didn’t know how to get there... | Read how Matt's interaction with a Prison Fellowship volunteer helped him on his faith journey in prison: https://prisonfellowship.org.au/2020/09/11/bikie-to-baptism/ - Become a ChainBreaker for as little as 50c a day, and help mobilise a volunteer to reach 3 prisoners with the Gospel: https://prisonfellowship.org.au/programs/chainbreakers/

02.01.2022 OUR VOLUNTEERS | Over the next few weeks we will be putting the spotlight on our dedicated volunteers, who bring hope behind prison walls. Demand for prison visits is high, especially after a year like 2020... we need more volunteers to meet this demand. In fact, we have 680 prospective volunteers willing to answer the call to prison ministry. Now we just need the resources to train, equip & place them. Most of society looks at these people and says, ‘You’re a loser’. But ...instead, somebody goes into prison and says, ‘I care for you and I don’t look at what you’ve done. I look at you as a person and I don’t judge you for where you are.’" - Wendy, QLD Volunteer ** Donate Today: https://prison-fellowship.secure.force.com/Donate Your $30 gift today means we can train a volunteer to reach out to prisoners and their families with the Gospel! **
