24.01.2022 Little re-cap of Brisbane Jamboree 2019 Set-up Thursday night and got the pit area ready for the crews arrival on Saturday morning and then watched some of the Friday testing getting very excited as there were some awesome runs throughout the afternoon and into the night. Saturday morning up bright and early, the boys were at the track early and had decided to leave the same tune up that it had from Kenda last round, and just adjust the 4 link bars as it was pulling right on ...launch. 1st qualifier big wheelstand 8.82 @ 154mph, got the car back to the pits still pulling a little right so adjusted the bars a bit more, also lost the passenger window 3/4 down the track so Chris did a Bunnings run and grabbed some perspex and the boys made another window just in time for the 2nd qualifier. 2nd qualifier 8.74 @ 155mph car seemed to be going straight so back to the pits and check data log. 3rd qualifier was a PB in all departments with 5.5 to 1/8th 8.72 @ 156mph on a .004 light, so pretty happy with having 3 qualifying runs and that was qualifying done. We ended qualifying 4th in class. Sunday morning the crew arrived bright and early, fuelled the van up and checked tyre pressures. The hardest decision to make was what time we were going to dial in as the van kept going faster and faster but the temp was a bit warmer so dial in at 8.70. Got into the lanes and had a solo pass which was good for the nerves so decided to try and make a full clean pass to see how the dial-in went and run an 8.83. Round 2 we dialled in at 8.75 cause of the warmer temps and had our first race and took the win with an 8.93. Took the van back to the pits packed the chute and checked the data log. Round 3 kept the same dial in and took the win with an 8.91. Round 4 there were a few incidents on track so there was a bit of sitting around and we somehow missed the call up for modified compact, massive thanks to Jamie Kuhn and the boys from Forced Performance & Tuning for their sportsmanship for sending us a message and then waiting for us to come around, so we were a little bit rushed and unfortunately red lighted and that was the end of racing for the week end. All in all a great weekend with the little van taking all the punishment we throw at it, for a standard ebay FG motor with just headstuds, valve springs and oil pump gears it just keeps on going with the only thing it needed on the weekend was a new window and some fuel. Straight off the trailer we had a massive wheelie with a peddle and still run 8.9, lee our laptop guru wanted to play it safe and turned it down a little to run a 8.7 and 8.8!!
