25.01.2022 As of midnight tonight patrons at the club will have to be seated when eating and drinking. Please ensure you adhere to the new rules or comply when asked. There is no option around this we must comply if we wish to stay open to our members.

25.01.2022 Reminder that all volunteers get a free meal and drink this Friday night at the club. Please remember to book as our patron limit is at 72 for the next couple of weeks.

25.01.2022 And now for the 2nd announcement for the weekend is club favourite and premiership ruckman Brad "Reemer" Ley who will also run out for game 150. With over 10 years service Brad will also be rewarded with club life membership. Reemer came into the A grade as a young pup and automatically took on the tough task of being the clubs #1 ruckman, a role he embraced and excelled in for many years. Brad is a player you always loved running out with and a very respected team mate. We wish Brad all the best tomorrow and congratulate him on his achievements. 23.01.2022 Unfortunately our u15 side has had to forfeit tomorrows match against Port. 22.01.2022 A huge congratulations goes out this week to Ash Chivell who hits the 100 game milestone. Chiv was a previous under 18 captain who has become a valued member of our senior squad. Hard at it and always team first, we wish Chiv all the best for tomorrow and into the finals.

21.01.2022 Only 1 day until the 2020 SGL season starts! Would great to see all our supporters decked out in blue and gold as we take on Port at memorial oval. Our canteen will be open so if you are looking for a drink or a feed please see them. The SGL has asked the clubs to pass on that no spectators are to enter the playing area at anytime. This includes between matches and at quarter breaks. There will be reminders on the PA system during the day about this.

20.01.2022 Congratulations to one of the clubs favourite sons. Tate Bradley will run out for game 250 for his beloved Gold & Blue tomorrow at Memorial Oval. 16.01.2022 Tomorrow brings another massive day for the club as Tyson "Takka" Horsnell runs out for game 200. For those who have been around a while youll remember Takka as a young kid who always had a footy in his hand. Tagging along with Dad Mick in the changerooms and spending hours out in the dark, long after the footy had finished, perfecting his skills around those goals. From that kid has grown one of our most successful forwards amassing a total of 450 senior goals. Hopefully to...morrow brings another bag and we congratulate Takka on reaching 200 club games. 13.01.2022 The club is expecting news in the coming weeks about the possibility of football commencing this season. This news is exciting and I am sure all our players and supporters would love to see the gold and blue out on the field soon. We have received advice from Clubs SA to promote to our members the importance of the COVIDSafe app. If this app is downloaded in great numbers it may lead to football starting soon. Please take the time to consider downloading if you havent already.

12.01.2022 Congratulations to Luke Edwards on winning the Madigan Medal. Luke also won the League leading goal kicker award.

12.01.2022 Bingo is back this Thursday! Hope to see plenty of numbers for our first Thursday back this week.

12.01.2022 I’d like to introduce Andrew Wrighty Wright to the Lions Football Club. Wrighty has signed to play footy for us next year, he is a great mate of Luke Edwards where he played football with Luke & last year played in a undefeated premiership where he was vice captain, coming runner up B&F for his team in the very strong Barossa football league. In 2019 Wrighty played SA country with our own Jordy Fuller. Wrighty has also had stints at Norwood and Central Districts. This year Wrighty has also been selected by the Crows in their pre season training squad. We are very excited Wrighty will be playing footy for the mighty Lions next year. Welcome to the Lions Football Club Wrighty.

10.01.2022 The club is excited to announce that Bingo will return to Thursday nights from 23 July. We hope to see all our regulars and maybe some new players there on the night.

09.01.2022 Well tomorrow is a massive day for our club and one of our favourite sons. Arguably the best player to pull on the Blue and Gold Jordan Fuller will run out for game 150. Jordy played his 1st A grade game in 2011 under Duck Davies before his junior mentor and u18s coach Ashleigh Dunkley took over in 2012. From that point he has grown into a champion of our club, winning multiple individual awards and also that magnificent premiership in 2015. A highly skillful, goal kicking m...idfielder Jordy is a dream to play alongside and a nightmare to play against. We wish Doxy all the best tomorrow and we all cant wait to see what the next 150 games bring. 09.01.2022 The milestones just keep coming and this weekend we have 2 big ones as they both run out for game 150. First up is already a club legend and after I go through his list of achievements youll understand why. Tyler Eckert started in 2011 as half back flanker and would become our most consistent backmen for the next 6 or 7 years. Id like to say he rarely loses a 1v1 contest but to be fair I am confident in saying he "NEVER" loses a 1v1 contest. His run and skill as an attacking... backman has put him up there as one of the best going around. Tyler has taken his game to an unbelievable new level the last couple of years as he has made the move into the midfield and would be a nightmare for opposition coaches. Well done Tysy and all the best for Saturday and the next 150 games. 04.01.2022 The first round of finals has been set and the League side will travel to Port Augusta on Saturday to take on South with the winner to move into the Grand Final. On Sunday in Pirie the u18 play South and the Seconds play Port. Get out there and support the Blue and Gold!

03.01.2022 Well done to Jake Lavis, Noah Raynor and Harry Seidel who played for Pirie in SAPSASA over the past three days

03.01.2022 At last nights SGL Committee meeting the 2020 SGL season was cancelled. There were a number of factors behind the decision including the health and safety of players, officials and volunteers, the restrictions on numbers of patrons in the clubrooms and at matches and financial position of the club being the main ones. I am sure there are many out there disappointed with this decision but now is not the time to walk away from the club.... The committee is working at reopening the club on Friday 26 June. There are a number of things to work through to ensure requirements are met but rest assured the committee will be working tirelessly to ensure this date is met. We will keep you posted on here as to our progress. There will be meetings held during the week with the hope of organising a junior competition. The club needs your support now more than ever whether it be volunteering to help with juniors, attending club functions, working on a kitchen shift or sponsoring the club in some capacity. Another way to support the club during this time would be to consider purchasing tickets in the Toyota Good for Footy raffle at the link below: https://toyotagoodforfooty.raffletix.com.au/prlionsfc?v=1

03.01.2022 Reminder about the volunteer lunch being held at the club on Sunday 22 November starting at 12pm for everyone that has helped the club at some stage this year.

02.01.2022 Another week brings another milestone down at the Lions Den and this week it is a massive one as our very own Benny Harmer becomes just the 3rd person in our clubs short history to reach 300 games. Ben started his senior career as a reliable and versitile player in the seconds, taking on various leadership roles. He is a part of the small group who played in all three seconds premierships. His commitment and dedication to getting as fit as he possibly could has seen him play... mostly in the league side for past few years and his games record is pretty much half and half which is a credit to the work he has put in over the journey. His off field work is just as impressive, helping out wherever he can as an umpire, junior coach, team manager, assisting with social events and cant leave out "club DJ". So if anyone deserves some recognition, its this bloke. Well done Ben and all the best for Saturday. Seconds captain and vice captain 2012,13,14 seconds premiership 2013 seconds best and fairest 2013 Seconds Munro Medal 2013 Mcgelicot Medal (bog in gf) clubs #1 DJ

02.01.2022 The club is looking for a bar manager to take over from Spike. The position would suit someone retired looking for a few hours of work each week. If you are interested please comment below or contact the club.

01.01.2022 The U18 sides season is over losing to South by five goals.
