25.01.2022 In Monday's edition of The Daily Soul you'll find the links to Bishop Greg's Easter Triduum Homilies. Bishop Greg invited us into a mini-retreat throughout the Easter Triduum. An average of 5000 viewers followed our spiritual leader via the live-streamed liturgies and heard his insightful yet simple message. The links point to each of Bishop Greg’s homilies. If you haven't already, we invite you to journey once again into this mini-retreat throughout the remainder of the Easter Season. https://csolismore.schoolzineplus.com/the-daily-soul?nid=91

25.01.2022 During this isolating season, Bishop Greg recognises an opportunity to be transformed. Access Bishop Greg's homily directly with the link below. "You’ll say to me, what can we do now because what you say to us Bishop, is about what will happen in the future? Which I’m quite confident of. I will say this to you now, recognise where we are being taken. We are not being taken into death, but, into a new form of life and experience of life. My recommendation, in fact, is what I... am doing myself. Every day I’m recgonising life. Every day I’m pleased to be alive. Every day I see new things. Every day I delight in the gift that God has given me. You might be fearful. You might be locked up at home. You might be isolated. But, nevertheless, you can find joy" (Bishop Greg, Fifth Sunday of Lent). https://youtu.be/yLXO-iQfE5U?t=447

13.01.2022 Yesterday was Divine Mercy Sunday and we thought it would be fitting to share the memories of the 2016 WYD Pilgrimage to Krakov, Poland. This day, in particular, provoked a deeper understanding of mercy. The pilgrims spent the morning in the footprints of those who suffered inconceivably at the Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps. In the afternoon, the pilgrims prayed at the grave of St. Faustina Kowalska, also known as the 'secretary of divine mercy'. In his Divine Me...rcy Sunday homily in the Basilica of Santo Spirito in Sassia, the sanctuary in Rome dedicated to Divine Mercy, Pope Francis encouraged us that, the time has come to eliminate inequalities, to heal the injustice that is undermining the health of the entire human family." Mercy does not abandon those who stay behind, Francis said. But he warned that now, while we are looking forward to a slow and arduous recovery from the pandemic, there is a danger that we will forget those who are left behind. Explaining what he meant by selfish indifference, he said, this is a virus spread by the thought that life is better if it is better for me and that everything will be fine if it is fine for me. It begins there and ends up selecting one person over another, discarding the poor and sacrificing those left behind on the altar of progress. He said the present pandemic reminds us that there are no differences or borders between those who suffer, referring to the fact that the coronavirus pandemic has already caused the deaths of more than 160,000 people and infected more than 2.3 million, and caused 4.5 billion to be placed under confinement measures or even total lockdown.

13.01.2022 Check it out! A great description of faith sparked through a curiosity of the universe. An awesome resource for the Science and RE classroom. We know the Earth is precious. Let us take time today to consider our footprint, and also to consider the mystery the Earth reveals about our own story.

07.01.2022 Today is Ash Wednesday and the first day of Lent. Usually it’s a time when people go without or sacrifice something. Maybe you’ve given something up in the past... chocolate, coffee? But why do we do this? Each month Bishop Greg meets with young adults from across the Diocese. Different Parishes dial in via Zoom. This month Bishop Greg focused on Lent. Check out the recording with the link below. ... If you’re a young adult, this is a great opportunity to network with likeminded people and receive insight from an incredibly well-respected figure. 06.01.2022 Take the time to reminisce. "But when we get it right, when we witness, when we love, when we go out of our way for the least of our students, the students notice. When we live as intentional disciples we make disciples, sometimes without even knowing." David Condon, 2019 Proclaim Lismore Staff 2019 was a huge success made possible with your ongoing support and willingness to invest. Thank you to all those who contirbuted to the 2019 Proclaim Lismore Staff Tour. A big thank you to Bishop Greg and the Dicoesan Clergy, David Condon, Jesse Manibusan and Wildfire.

04.01.2022 St. Ignatius of Loyola created the Examen to be a very short prayer that can be prayed at any time. In the Examen, we review our recent past to find God and God’s blessings in our daily life. Ignatius would say that the Examen should be the most important moment of our day, because this moment affects every other moment. Benefits: The Examen brings God’s presence into the mud and muck of our day. It helps... Unite you even closer to God.... Reveal God’s perspective on your everyday life. Stir you to praise God for the countless gifts that have popped up in your day, and even to find God’s presence in those gifts. Give you an opportunity to recognise and apologise for your faults, grieve your failures and hurts, and receive healing from them. Bring insight into what is really going on beneath the surface your thoughts, words, and actions - into the very source of your motivations. You discern how to handle the trickier aspects of your life, to know what gifts you need from God to do the right thing tomorrow, and to ask God for those gifts explicitly. For more on the Awareness Examen download the ‘Reimagining the Examen’ app in the Apple Store or on Google Play.
