22.01.2022 Hard at work crunching numbers on Survey Statistics. Good stuff. even some surprises in there!

21.01.2022 Some light reading for you

18.01.2022 Work Cover in both QLD and NSW have repeatedly considered Skydivers who are ABN to be 'workers' for the purposes of Work Cover. Repeatedly awarded coverage to those that are injured.... they can only do this if you report an injury to your doctor and Work Cover. if you are hurt at work (often even on the way to and from work as well) then make sure you present your case to Work Cover. It doesn't matter that your operator says you are not covered, its up to Work Cover to make that decision!

18.01.2022 QLD: you can lodge the claim via your treating Doctor, yourself (online, by phone or good old snail mail) or you can even get your employer to do it for you. Quickest and most convenient seems to be doing it directly through the Doctor

14.01.2022 From ATO activity statement update ...... pretty clear really!

09.01.2022 is pleased to report that there has been another case of an Instructor being awarded Work Cover after being injured whilst jumping even though the company where they work denied that they were even employed by them. The latest scam by some of the companies is to say that the Instructors work for the Club and to try and off-load the impeding Superannuation and Work Cover claims on to the Chief Instructor!!

06.01.2022 interesting reading.... especially "1. Terms and circumstances of contract" where it reads... "...the parties cannot create something which has every feature of a rooster, but call it a duck and insist that everyone else recognise it as a duck."

02.01.2022 Congratulations to the Instructor who after being severely injured last year whilst jumping has just been awarded Work Cover from their NSW employer after a long period of arbitration between instructor/employer/insurer. The ATO also deemed that he is a an employee for the purposes of Superannuation and they have begun legal proceedings to collect the outstanding debt from the employing company. The company debt runs to some ten's of thousands due to length of time he had work for them!
