25.01.2022 Good to know: Turns out that a pertussis vaccine dose given during pregnancy wears off quickly, and might make that baby unable to respond to future doses of th...e vaccine from then on. Researchers found that vaccinating for pertussis during pregnancy protects the baby for the first two months after birth. But after that antibodies fall, and the repeat vaccine doses normally given during the first year of life no longer seem to have the desired affect. Infants vaccinated in the womb: had significantly higher PT antibody levels at birth and at 2 months...but significantly lower PT...antibody levels at 6 and 7 months... than did babies of pregnant women who were not given the vaccine. https://academic.oup.com//article-abstr/67/7/1063/5053576
